Warner Bros. Developing Game of Thrones Movie
Game of Thrones looks to be potentially headed to the big screen, with Warner Bros reportedly in development on a film in the setting. THR reports that the studio has been quietly working on “at least one” film set in the world of the TV franchise, which is said to be in the very early stages of development at this point.
There are no details on the plot, in-setting timeframe or the like for the film, which would be the first full film set in the world based on George R.R. Martin’s novels. HBO has been the host network for the original Game of Thrones as well as the prequel spinoff House of the Dragon and the upcoming A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms series. During Game of Thrones’ height, some episodes were given special theatrical screenings.
Martin has always been interested in a film and said back in 2014 that some ideas for such were being discussed. At this point, no word on any talent involved in the potential film, nor obviously a potential release date.
