Now, on with the show!

Last week we discussed our Thoughts on DC Zoom and DC Ink. Here’s what some of you had to say:

Reginald Fisterbottom: “Maybe it’s just me being an old fuddy-duddy, but I remember a time when every super-hero comic book from DC (and Marvel) was suitable for all ages to read. The content was mature enough for adults without sacrificing the youth market. It was called the Bronze Age of comics.

Of course, that was back in the day when a comic book title selling 100,000 copies monthly meant cancellation as opposed to being a “success” today.”

doctorburningfire: “Am I the only one who thinks that Superman art is awful and makes it look like he’s pregnant? I get that it’s his arm, but good art should leave no room for confusion.”

SCGuy: “I’m kind of sad to not see a Gotham Academy in the is line up, a reboot of some sort or continuation. I loved that one!!!”

This week we ask…

Which Marvel Comic Book Event Are We Most Looking Forward To?

Marvel unveiled its 2019 Publishing Slate to a panel during this year’s Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo. Hosted by Editor in Chief C.B. Cebulski, who was joined by some of Marvel’s biggest creators, the panel teased what’s next in the Marvel Universe, creating a stir on what the yet-to-be-revealed story in December would be.

“We’re only a few months into 2019, and we’ve already seen how our amazing fans—all of you—are inspiring some of the most outstanding storytelling in comics to date,” said Cebulski. “Whether you choose to read your favorite Marvel books—like THE IMMORTAL HULK, VENOM, AVENGERS: NO ROAD HOME…or you want to read about the entire Marvel Universe—there’s truly a story for every type of fan to dive into and experience this year. With that in mind, this new publishing slate for Marvel Comics is a guide to help you see where things are going and choose your favorite stories and characters to follow.”

“The Marvel Universe is a tapestry of connections, with hidden clues and incredible details woven into every story. Our new publishing slate highlights the biggest moments for us this year…and we think you all will be excited for the next reveal planned this December,” added Cebulski.

Starting in April, Marvel’s “War of the Realms” launches; featuring heroes such as Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel, the dark sorcerer Malekith wages a war that has spread from one otherworldly realm to the next, with our realm being the only one left standing.

Then in July Marvel’s “House of X” and “Powers of X” will celebrate the next major milestone in X-Men history. Since their introduction by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby over 50 years ago, readers have followed the adventures of the X-Men through moments like Giant-Size X-Men, 1991’s X-Men #1, Age of Apocalypcs, and New X-Men. Marvel is promising that this summer’s book will rival those in scope and impact.

In August, the Marvel Universe will face “Absolute Carnage”. Beginning in Free Comic Book Day Spider-Man/Venom #1 will feature Cletus Kasady, who is deadlier than ever. On a hunt for every superhero in the Marvel Universe who has worn a symbiote, Carnage has his eyes on his first victims…starting with some of our favorite Marvel heroes.

As for December…your guess is as good as mine.

Which of these events are you most excited for?

That’s all the time I have. Check out our Comic Book Reviews tomorrow and see you next week!
