TMZ reports that filmmaker Woody Allen has filed a lawsuit this week against Amazon Studios for backing out of a four-movie deal over the existing molestation allegations against him. This includes Amazon backing out of distributing his film, A Rainy Day in New York.

The movie was reportedly shot and ready for release, but Amazon then backed out of the deal in June 2018. Allen’s camp claims the studio backed out due to Woody Allen’s “renewed allegations” and “controversial comments.”

Also, Allen’s camp is claiming Amazon committed to distribute three other films from him as well, but Amazon reportedly backed away from them. Allen says this is due to a “25-year-old, baseless allegation” that he molested his and Mia Farrow’s adopted daughter, Dylan.

Woody Allen is reportedly suing for breach of contract and damages in the amount of $68 million. A Rainy Day in New York stars Selena Gomez and Timothee Chalamet.
