411’s AAA/CMLL Report 8.16.05

August 16, 2005 | Posted by Newton Gimmick

Welcome to another exciting week of Lucha Libre. I guess PicsPlace will only host your images for so long. Thus my logos are gone. I’ll try to get some new ones up next week. That’s gay, they should host your pics forever. Despite bad weather knocking my satelite out for a bit, we have two hours of CMLL. For those who read my Saturday column, good news, I will post the nude pics of Diva Search contestant Ashley this week. I mentioned it last week, and I got quite a few letters requesting that I do. I believe someone threatened to hate me for life while someone else threatened to kill the Easter Bunny. I have a conscience. I also have a few suprises that other columnists haven’t posted. Tune in Saturday to find out.

Anyway, today’s Lucha show is brought to you by Saturday’s Sentinel! Give it a read if you haven’t already!

Now let’s bang a gong and get it on!

CMLL 8.16.05

Pierroth, Hijo De Pierroth, and Damian El Terrible vs Black Warrior, Mr. Niebla, and Blue Panther
I have a new rule. I’m not recapping any match that has Pierroth in it. Especially one that he wins. So in lamens terms Pierroth wins this match. He shouldn’t, but he did. What does anyone see in Pierroth?

Winners: Pierroth, Hijo De Pierroth, and Damian El Terrible

NO VERDICT!

Brazo De Plata, LA Park, Shocker versus Black Tiger, Shigeo Okumura and Ryusuke Taguchi

See on one hans I have Shocker and LA Park, but on the other I have Super Porky. The prblme with Porky is that he only works with certain wrestlers. Last week I pointed this out, and this week he’s in here with Shiego Okumura, someone Porky has beaten up on countless times. Its so fricking useless to have Porky on the roster and not make him wrestle in a serious enviroment. Anyway LA Park and Ryusuke go at it early, with Ryusuke showing his mastery of the basics. LA Park gets a cool head slap and works a side headlock, before Ryusuke nails a quick vertical and tries the quick pin. LA Park with a rRude Awakening and that looks like curtains for Ryusuke, but he’s saved. I just noticed that this entire team is Japanese. Why would CMLL waste a cool Japan versus Mexico match with Super Porky? Is that really who you want representing your country? Tiger and Shocker begin to go at it and “WHOOO! WHOOO!” you get the idea on what they are doing. Shocker sends Black Tiger out of the ring and in comes Super Porky. He belly bops everyone and works over Shiego, then nails the fat guy drop and pins him. Park rolls up and pins Tiger. Kenmonito (The little blue monkey frined of Shocker’s) get a splash in too. So I guess this IS a comedy match.

Winner of Fall #1: Brazo De Plata, LA Park, Shocker

The second fall starts and Shocker and Shiego are having a chop fest. Shocker wins, so Shiego shoulderblocks him down. Shocker rolls through a hits a dropkick. I’d like to say I totally enjoyed Shocker/Shelly at the TNA PPV. Some people are claiming they still didn’t mesh, but I thought it was a awesome bout. Shocker is adjusting more and more to the American style. Anyway the Japs double team Shocker, and LA Park comes in and hits a enziguri on Black Tiger. The Japs do a 3 on 1 to Parka, and try one on Porky but he won’t sell. Finally they slam him down and make him sell. The tecnicos roll out of the ring and watch as the rudos beat on LA Park. Why? Black Tiger hits a top rope senton. Shocker (Who is sporting silver latex makeup this week) comes in to help out, but he gets hit with a Doomsday Missile Dropkick, and the rudos pin him and Black Tiger pins LA Park.

Winner of Fall #2: Black Tiger, Shigeo Okumura and Ryusuke Taguchi

If this wasn’t a comedy match, I think this would be good. If we could just get rid of Super Porky. Rudos start out beating on Porky, and Parka and Shocker decide to leave him hanging like he left them. Of course Porky “Porks Up” and take the rudos down. Then he finds Shiego and fights him. How odd….or not. Shocker tags in now and goes against Ruysuke, they exchange hard chops and Shocker doesn’t like it to so he tags in LA Park to exchange chops with Ryu instead. HA! Shocker tags back in after the chopping is over. The rudos rush in, but La Park and Shocker toss them. They fake dual planchas, and then Super Porky jumps off on one of them via the apron. Shocker does a spinning backbreaker, and Black Tiger submits. Shortly after LA Park hits a BRUTAL Code Red, and gets the 3 count on Black Tiger. Odd that they both pinned Tiger.

Winners: Brazo De Plata, LA Park, Shocker

Afterwards they dance and around with Kenmonito, and they show some guy in the crowd making his baby dance.

Verdict: This could have been a excellent match, instead it was treated as a comedy match. For a comedy match it was fine, but this could have been so much more, and that’s a let down.

Hey look it’s the Lucha Skanks! Shake it girls, shake it!

Super Commando versus Sombra De Plata

This is under a special 10 minute time limit, and they keep showing the time to let us know. This would be a cool way to hype up a feud or something, but I have no idea who these guys are as they’ve never appeared on CMLL in the 26 weeks I’ve been recapping it. WAY TO GO CMLL! Sombra works over Commando’s arm, and does a pair of double leg takedowns. Sombra unleashes a few fists to Commando. Super Commando gets a face first take down and locks on a side headlock, but Sombra fights out. Commando does a arm wringer, but Sombra kicks him in the face and flips out. Pair of leapfrogs, but Commando chop blocks Sombra as he jumps over. RUDO! Commando takes him down and then dropkicks him in the face. Sombra does roll through for a quick pin but it goes no where. They do a bunch of flipping around each other. Sombra nails a rana on Commando that sends him outside, and then Sombra runs and does a twisting tope to the outside onto Commando. Impressive. Sombra misses a Stinger Splash and Commando gets a 2 1/2. Sombra springs to the ropes and hits a TWISTING Hurricarana. Commando regains composure, and shoulders Sombra in the gut and tries a baseball slide, but Sombra just side steps him. Sombra goes for a moonsault, but Commando yanks him down. Sombra is dazed and Commando runs across the ring….SUICIDE DIVE! Sombra bvack into the ring gets 2 quick pins on Commando, but can’t put him away with that. Commando hits a flying back splash, and that gets a long 2 count. Commando chops Sombra in the chest hard. Irish whip but Sombra flips over a charging Commando. He locks in a Headscissor Satelite submission, and Sombra wins! They show the clock was about 6 and half minutes in.

Winners: Sombra De Plata!

We get replays of some of the highlights as we head to commercial. Super Commando is NOT happy.

Verdict: A good little singles match. Even not knowing these guys, they put up a heck of a show. I’d like to see more singles matches in CMLL, as the trios matches get boring after a while.

We’re back and it’s time for the Grandpa Squad!

Cien Caras, Mascara Ano 2000, and Apollo Dantes versus Hijo Del Perro Aguayo, Tarzan Boy, and Hector Garza
Another new rule, I’m not recapping any Grandpa Squad matches. Especially ones they win. It’s torture. This is leading to a Perro Jr. and Sr. and Caras and Ano hair vs hair match in the future and MAYBE I’ll recap that.

Winners: Cien Caras, Mascara Ano 2000, and Apollo Dantes!
It’s MAIN EVENT TIME!

Dr. Wagner Jr, and Mistico versus Ultimo Guerrero and Rey Bucanero

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 3 or 4 weeks Mistico and Ultimo are engaging in a long running feud. Last week Dr. Wagner got involved and now he’s a mini-part of the grudge. Ultimo attacks Mistico during his entrance, and Rey attacks Wagner, but Doc Wagner gets the best of him and takes into the ring to take out Ultimo. Wagner lariats Ultimo down, then springs off the ropes with a huge basement dropkick. Mistico is tagged in and nails a headscissor. Wagner off the apron with a flipping senton to Ultimo. OUCH! Rey Bucanero comes in and tries to take Mistico down, but Mistico flips over him and hits a armbar DDT, and then wrenches back the armbar. Rey Bucanero gives up.

Winners of Fall #1: Dr. Wagner Jr and Mistico!

They are all four brawling it out here in the openings of the second fall. Mistico does a 619 to Ultimo which sends him flying backwards and Wagner bulldogs him. Nepotism. Ultimo gets ahold of Misitico and press slams him into Wagner. We get clips of last week’s elbow, knee move. Rey Bucanero nails a drop short powerbomb on Misitico, and that get’s three. Wagner is slammed down, and Ultimo grabs a arm and leg and does a wheel barrell submission. He gives up.

Winners of Fall #2: Ultimo Guerrero and Rey Bucanero!

The rudos beat on the tecnicos before the third fall even officially starts. They rip at the mask of Dr. Wagner, and ruin that mask. They also tear up Misitico’s mask some more. As the Third fall officially starts Ultimo hits a running knee to the face of Wagner. The rudos take Misitico and drop him face first in the ring, then drag him up the apron and double team slam on the apron. They charge at Dr. Wagner, who is on the ramp and he hits a belly-to-belly suplex. He then hurls Misitico over the ropes for a dropkick on the rudos. Rey gets sent out of the ring and Misitico dives to the top, DIVING TOPE onto Rey. Dr. Wagner is a house of fire in the ring, and he unloads with chops in the corner to Ultimo. Uno! Doce! Tres! Quatro! He pulls Ultimo out of the corner, MICHINOKU DRIVER! They show some hot muscle bound chick in the crowd a bunch. Rey makes his way back in and slaps the back of Wagner.Wagner does a tornado DDT on Ultimo. Doc Wagner is ripping the mask of Ultimo and he doesn’t care. Rey finally takes him down, but here comes Mistico for a quick roll up on Ultimo….1 … 2 …3!

Winners: Dr. Wagner Jr and Mistico!

They challenge each other some more after the match. Lots of Mexican mic talk. Ultimo attacks Wagner, and they duke it out.

Verdict: This was a fast paced match compared to some of their other brawls. The falls came quick. Still it was a solid addition to the feud. The problem is, the feud is now about Wagner and Ultimo, not Ultimo and Misitico. Mistico has yet to pin Ultimo or defeat him convincingly yet either.

Final Thoughts: Well that’s our show. A decent show, but not the best CMLL has done either. They need to limit the trios matches to important trios matches, and they need to keep Pierroth and the Grandpa Squad off my TV. I just can’t take it anymore. Other then those blunders, decent affair tonight. See you next week.
