411’s TNA Impact Report 01.07.06

Last week on Impact:

As JJ makes his entrance, Jackie Gayda is here again to yell at him. Security takes her away.

Match #1 JJ and Monty defeated Sharky and Kenny King

Don is with Jackie and he asks what is up with JJ. Jackie says it is not a lover’s quarrel. This is about business and an agreement and JJ keeping his word. Jeff promised her an opportunity and she took it, but she sat at home and then saw Gail Kim on TV and not her. That was her spot and her money and she will do something about it. She says she knows something about him and TNA will want to know. If she doesn’t get her money, the tables will turn and his life will be hell. He knows what she is talking about.

Match #2 Rhyno defeated A1

D’Amore attacks Rhino with the hockey stick and Rhino is pissed. Abyss is out, CHOKESLAM to Rhino! Abyss beats him down. Off the ropes…BLACK HOLE SLAM! Mitchell and Abyss shake as Rhino has been laid out.

Bullet Bob is with Konnan. Bob wants to hear his side. Konnan never liked Kip and he attacked before he was attacked. Konnan says he can’t mend it, but Bob says they can fix it. Bob tries to say that 2006 will be their year. Bob reminds Konnan about what he did for him and that they are family. Konnan says maybe he is a hothead, and he needs to change himself. Konnan says if Bob will go with him, he will apologize. He tells Bob he is sorry for what he did.

Match #3 Samoa Joe © defeated Roderick Strong

Backstage Konnan, Apollo and Homicide are standing over a beaten Bullet Bob. They attacked him with a chair and tell him to tell BG and Kip to take care of their own business!

Match #4 James Storm defeated AJ Styles

Back form commercial and Larry Z is ready to talk. Larry says he saw what went on. 2006 will start with Total Non-Stop Action. At Midnight, they will settle this. AMW will defend their titles against AJ and Daniels!

AJ and Daniels talk it over and shake. AMW attack as they shake and they beat down AJ and Daniels. Gail is helping by the way, the slut! Christian Cage is out with a chair to chase off AMW. Cage says hold on there boys. Nobody go anywhere, because at midnight Daniels and AJ will beat AMW’s asses! To top it all off, TNA management will make their announcement about the newest member of TNA. That’s how he rolls ya know.

Extra “First Match of 2006” Impact

Christian Cage and Tenay count down and we have a big New Years Celebration! The people in the Impact Zone are really good sports.

Christian and Tenay are in the ring and they are set for the announcement. Tenay says this IS what we have been waiting for. The face of TNA changes forever tonight, the newest member of the TNA roster is Sting’s Gear and Sting himself! Cage says Tenay is smart. Cage says he isn’t one to one up someone, but at Final Resolution it will be Monty and JJ vs. Cage and STING in the main event!

JJ is out. He says the battle lines have been drawn and the match signed. The war will be won by JJ and Monty. Tonight, it is party night. JJ says Christian always tries to play the crowd, and that is because he isn’t going to climb the mountain because he doesn’t have what it takes to win the NWA Title…and THAT is how JJ rolls. Christian says he actually shows some life. He asks where the white pants are, and says JJ finally grew a set of nutz~! Cage says his Resolution is to abuse JJ…SLAPNUTZ~! JJ hits the ring and they brawl! Knee by JJ and Monty is here. They beat down Cage and Rhino is here! T REX ARMS OF DOOM! AMW is out now and the numbers are too much. JJ’s crew is in control, but Team 3D has arrived! WAR BITCHES!

Tenay and West welcome us to iMpact! They hype the main event and we go to the ring.

Team 3-D (Devon and Ray) vs. Buck Quartermain & Lex Lovett

AMW attack at the bell and dump Lex. Sideslam/leg drop combo to Buck. Ray beats down Buck now but Buck battles back with rights. Clothesline by Ray and a tag to Devon. Double team on Buck and Devon rams him to the corner. He just beats him down with rights and lefts. Off the ropes, clubbing shots by Buck, but Devon gets a shoulder block. Ray is in and tosses Lex again. 3D on Buck and he’s fucked.

Winners: Team 3D via pin @ 1:49

Ray has the mic and it is business time. They won the ECW, WCW, WWE tag champs, 18-times they have had the gold. Final Resolution will be Team 3D’s final destiny, the NWA tag titles, the most prestigious titles in wrestling. He would give up all 18-runs just to hold the NWA titles just one time. It will separate them from every other team, including the Road Warriors.

Squash to show Team 3D’s dominance as #1 contenders. The following promo was gold as it put over the titles huge in my opinion.

Tenay and West put over the PPV and Sting’s debut. Sting and Cage vs. JJ and Monty. Also it’s AMW © vs. Team 3D! Through out tonight they will hear tribute to Sting.

Sonjay Dutt says Sting coming to TNA is huge. It gives TNA a stamp of approval to many fans.

Commercial time.

We are back with Shane Douglas and Team JJ. JJ says 3D will be another notch in the belt of AMW. JJ says Sting hasn’t been on TV in 5 years and this tribute is bull. The cornerstones of TNA never got a tribute. JJ says Sting is the last ditch effort to take his title. They know Sting well and will do their own tribute to Sting. Young is worried it will make him mad, and they make him get Monty. D’Amore said he saw Jackie, and he has a letter for him. He opened it and asks if JJ had loose lips. He only read half way through and it mentions Canada. Gail is pissed and JJ says to hush. They have a tribute to plan.

Konnan says there is a new Clique in town. But he has a new team, Homicide and Apollo. Konnan goes off in Spanish, and actually didn’t look for his dog.

The Naturals (Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens) vs. Homicide & Apollo w/Konnan

Apollo and Homicide attack before the bell. Stevens and Douglas fight back and Konnan is in and nails the ref! That’s all.

Konnan and his thugs beat down the Naturals and BG and Kip are here! Brawl! They ram Kip into the steel post. They have BG in the ring and Konnan has a black jack and levels him. Kip has a chair and clears the ring.

Winners: The Naturals via DQ @ 0:30

Quick match, probably because of Homicide’s injury. It helped build the story and hey, the Naturals didn’t lose.

Chris Sabin puts over Sting. He remembers when Sting beat Hogan for the title at Starrcade with Bret Hart as referee.

We are back with a Sting hype video.

Shane Douglas is at Larry Z’s office. Jackie is here. Larry says to leave. Aries, Strong and Shelley are there to complain. They are being held down and Larry says they have to earn their spot. They make a joke about the baseball players and if that would get them on TV. They say there is more to the X Division than AJ, Daniels and Joe. Lynn says to worry about their match they have later and to do something to get in the next PPV besides bitch about it.

Ron Killings vs. Bobby Roode w/Coach D’amore

Roode attacks, roll up and Killings wins!

Winner: Ron Killings via pin @ 0:08

Roode and D’Amore are pissed. Roode says he wasn’t ready. He says there is no more 4LK, because he is a low life thug. He challenges him and Killings is back.

Ron Killings vs. Bobby Roode w/Coach D’amore

Roode beats him down, rights to Killings now. He has the hockey stick, Killings rolls him up and that’s all again!

Winner: Ron Killings via pin @ 0:35

The crowd chants “123” at Roode. D’Amore says that was cheap and says to try it now that Roode is ready.

Ron Killings vs. Bobby Roode w/Coach D’amore

Roode clotheslines Killings on the floor and tosses him back in. Roode in control and rams Killings to the corner. Snap mare and a rear choke on Killings. Killings to his feet, elbows out and they exchange rights. Off the ropes and a spinning forearm to Roode. Clotheslines by Killings. Powerslam to Roode and that gets 2. D’Amore is in and Killings tries the AX kick, but Roode nails the Northern Lariat for the win.

AJ Styles puts over Sting. He says he liked when he changed to “crow sting.”

We are back Shane Douglas and Samoa Joe. Joe stands there and doesn’t talk, and Shane goes to leave and Joe talks! Joe says he needs to ask Daniels about him. He says to ask Daniels about being in the hospital, about not being able to hold his new baby boy. There is a thin line between brave and stupid, and Daniels is stupid for going back into the ring with Joe. I already beat and injured you. Come Final Resolution, I add more of your blood to my towel and I end your career. Shane asks him about Sting and Joe walks away.

Sabin and Alex to start. Lock up and some reversals and a stand off. Alex spits on him and gets an arm bar. Sabin flips out and gets an arm drag. Tilt a whirl head scissors on Alex. Boots by Alex and a RANA to Sabin. TESTICULAR CLAW TO SABIN! Tag to RS. RANA by Sabin. Tag to Daniels. Slams to RS and then a choke. Tag to AJ, double team side slam knee drop combo. Jaw breaker on AJ, off the ropes and AJ with the sweet dropkick. Gen. Next pulls AJ to their corner and beats him down. Spinning kick by Alex and a back suplex to AJ. Alex with the SKULLFUCK to AJ! Tag to RS and a butterfly suplex to AJ gets 2. Tag to Alex and AJ fights them off, but a side kick by Alex. Catapult into a YAKUZA kick by RS. AA in and he levels AJ. Running corner strokes to AJ and Gen Next is all over him and AJ is down and covered for a close 2! AA grabs AJ…PELE! Tag to Alex and Daniels. Daniels is the house O fire! Tilt a whirl back breaker to Alex. DDT neck breaker to RS and Alex! Angels Wings is stopped by a dropkick by RS. Sabin with a sling shot to save Daniels. DOUBLE DIVE to RS and AA by Sabin and Daniels. AA drop toeholds Daniels into the steel railing. AJ flies and brawls with AA. RS is in the ring, GUT BUSTER to Sabin. Alex gets a variation of Sliced Bread #2 to Sabin and they win!

Winners: Alex Shelley & Roderick Strong & Austin Aries via pin @ 7:19

That shit was bananas! Great match.

Christian says Sting is a legend and will be a big deal for TNA.

We are back with Team JJ’s tribute to Sting.

JJ is out with the mic. He says Sting is coming to TNA and 2006 will be the year of the Stinger. If they want to see Sting, well they will get a proper tribute. The crowd HATES JJ so much. He will give us Sting. What better person to do a Sting tribute that him. He knows him the best.

Eric Young is dressed as surfer Sting, and he has a remix of “Man Called Sting!”

Next is 1996, and Sting changed. Chris Harris is 1996 Sting. JJ mocks him with the bat. James Storm is dressed in a chicken suit with a beer. He is supposed to be “the crow.”

Modern day Sting is next. We don’t know what he looks like nowadays. Not even TNA knows what he looks like. JJ knows though.

Monty is the “new Sting.” He is pushing a baby carriage. This is bad now. Monty says this is all for him and “the little Stinger.” The baby doll has a mask on. That’s how he strolls. Obviously clipped, thank god.

Cage is here and has a mic, thank you! He has good and bad news. Bad is they are embarrassing themselves and are jack offs. The good news is , he just saved a bunch of money on his car insurance. Monty calls him on, and Cage says he has to “get the tables.” Team 3D is here now and they charge the ring. Big brawl now and they toss the “Stings.” Storm is left in his chicken suit. They toss him but Abyss is here! He lays them out but Rhino is here! They battle and GORE GORE GORE TO ABYSS!

Rhino, Team 3D and Cage stand strong.

Final Impact Thoughts: Overall a very good show. They built to the PPV very well I thought, and the X 6-man was great. I like them running the “Gen Next” angle in TNA, as it finally gives those guys something to do. The Sting deal and Killings v. Roode matches were…something. But a thumbs up from me.
