411’s WWE Superstars Report 4.16.09

– Todd Grisham and JR just made me laugh by saying that Superstars is the ONLY show that you can see people from all the brands on. HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAA~!
Matt Hardy vs. The Undertaker
Matt doesn’t look to enthused to lock up, so Undertaker kicks him, lands some rights and then gets a clothesline. To the floor they go, Undertaker tosses Matt to the barrier and back to the ring we go. Undertaker works the arm, to the ropes and it is time to go to school, old school that is. Undertaker clotheslines Matt to the floor, and we’ll head to a commercial @ 2:00.
Back from commercial @ 5:00 with Undertaker hitting the leg drop on the apron. Undertaker rolls him back in and covers for 2. head butts by Undertaker in the corner, uppercuts follow and then a choke by Undertaker. Undertaker then scares the ref away and then shoots Matt off the ropes, GOOZLE, escape and Matt gets a neck breaker and then delivers rights. Elbows to the back of the neck by Matt, and he then chokes him out in the ropes. Boot to the gut, but Undertaker sends him to the apron and delivers rights, GOOZLE again…but Matt with a stun gun off the ropes, and a cover for 2. Matt with the front facelock, Undertaker to his feet and Matt with body shots. Butterfly lock and into the hanging submission, nice. More of a hanging guillotine now, but Undertaker rams him to the corner and breaks the hold. Rights by Matt, forearms follow, a whip, reversal and then a back elbow by Matt. Leaps off of the 2nd rope and a BIG BOOT by Undertaker gets 2. Corner clothesline by Undertaker, another and then the snake eyes follows! Big boot by Undertaker! Leg drop and a cover for 2. Undertaker calls for the chokeslam again, but Matt bails to the floor and grabs a chair. He drops it, circles the ring and says fuck this and takes the count out.
Winner: The Undertaker @ 10:00 via Countout
– Jeff now hits the ring and beats Matt down. They brawl ringside, Matt back to the ring and CHOKESLAM FOR YOU MY FRIEND! Jeff approves of this, and then leaves so Undertaker doesn’t kick his ass.
– Finlay vs. Christian is next. Wait, Shane McMahon vs. Cody Rhodes is the MAIN EVENT for this show? Ugh…
– Josh Matthews and Matt Striker join us on commentary.
– We get a video package from WrestleMania XXV.
Elimination Chase Finals: Finlay w/Hornswoggle vs. Christian
Lock up and to the corner they go, and we’ll get a clean break. Finlay with the takedown, works the arm and then covers for 2. They circle, lock up and to the corner again, clubbing rights and uppercuts by Finlay follow. A whip to the corner, back elbow by Christian, sunset flip off of the 2nd rope and that gets 2. Finlay kicks Christian to the floor, and follows. Finlay slams Christian to the apron, back to the ring and Finlay with the reverse DDT into a back breaker and cover for 2. Chinlock applied by Finlay, rights by Christian to escape but Finlay slams him down. 2nd rope goes Finlay, but is caught by a boot and both men are down. Rights by Christian, backdrop follows and then an uppercut to Finlay. Up top and a HUGE cross body, Finlay rolls through and gets 2. Finlay counters the kill switch, Christian counters the Celtic Cross, up top, Finlay follows and gets knocked down. Tornado DDT by Christian gets 2! Finlay slams Christian to the post, but then Christian counters the Finlay roll and gets the kill switch for the win.
Winner and #1 Contender for the ECW Title Christian @ 6:00 via pin
– They only got 6-minutes? Really? Ok…
– Christian and Finlay shake and share a hug after the match. They may have also agreed to dinner plans.
– Michael Cole and The King join the show for commentary.
– They hype Orton vs. HHH for Raw.
– Eve Torres interviews Shane McMahon. Shane says it is HHH’s job to get the job done. But he thinks that Orton is nothing without Legacy, and he wouldn’t have been able to hurt his family without them. So tonight, he gets retribution.
Shane McMahon vs. Cody Rhodes
Shane talks shit, shoves Rhodes at the bell and then throws a jab. Rhodes misses a right, body shots by Shane and then a clothesline. Arm drags by Shane, body scissors now and then into a really bad triangle choke. Rhodes gets the ropes, Shane breaks and already looks gassed. Rhodes to the floor, Shane follows, and slams Rhodes into the post. Rights by Shane, back into the ring and Shane covers for 2. Shane works the arm, drops some knees as well and keeps control. Rhodes works to escape, kicks to the back of Shane does that and then Rhodes to the floor again. Shane follows, and then leaps off of the steps and gets a clothesline on Rhodes. Back in the ring they go and Shane covers for 2. They go back to the floor, they brawl and Shane slams Rhodes into the barrier. Rights by Shane, back in they go and as Shane comes back in Rhodes catches him with a right. He then tosses Shane into the barricade, and the ref goes to check on him. We’ll head to a commercial @ 4:00.
Back from commercial @ 8:00 and Rhodes is working the arm. Knee to the gut follows and then some stomps. A whip to the corner and Shane drops, Rhodes covers for 2. More stomping by Rhodes, a slam follows and then more kicks. Basement dropkick to the back of Shane gets 2. Rhodes continues to work the back, and then applies a modified camel clutch. Shane gets to his feet and slams Rhodes back to the corner two times. Back elbow by Rhodes, to the 2nd rope and Rhodes connects with the bulldog for a close 2. Rhodes kicks the piss out of Shane now, and covers for 2. To the corner, Rhodes sets Shane up top and then follows. Shane battles back, knocks Rhodes off of the ropes and Shane flies for a double sledge but eats a dropkick, Rhodes covers for 2. Rhodes to the floor, gets a chair and the ref takes it away from him. TOUGH LUCK SON. Jabs by Rhodes, mocks Shane, but Shane McMahon’s up and fires back with his really bad looking punches. Rhodes pulls Shane to the floor, but Shane gets the chair, and NAILS Rhodes with it, and we have a DQ finish.
Winner: Cody Rhodes @ 14:00 via DQ
– Shane beats the piss out of Rhodes with the chair, and sets him up for the Shane-Terminator. Trashcan in place, Shane to the corner and goes coast to coast. He broke his ass there because he came up short.
