TJP and Templario’s days as reigning NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Champions are over!

At CMLL’s November 14 event at Arena Mexico, the United Empire duo defended the belts against current CMLL World Tag Team Champions Angel de Oro and Niebla Roja.

The 15-minute bout saw both teams trade several submissions. Ultimately, the Campana Swinging Hold from Angel de Oro helped his team emerge victorious.

Check out the highlights from the match below:

This defeat ends Templario and TJP’s reign as NJPW Strong Openweight Tag Team Champions at 189 days. They won the gold at NJPW Resurgence in May 2025, defeating the World Class Wrecking Crew (Royce Isaacs and Jorel Nelson) following a 13-minute match. They went on to have three defenses, with each of them coming in CMLL.

Meanwhile, Angel de Oro and Niebla Roja are now double champions. They have been in possession of the CMLL World Tag Team Championship since January 2022 (1392 days and counting).
