As previously reported, Jazmyn Nyx recently exited WWE, noting that she turned down a new contract offer that she stated “just wasn’t going to cut it” for her financially. It was later reported by Fightful Select that although WWE wanted to retain Nyx, the company was unwilling to budge on the offer in her new prospective multi-year contract, which was said to be at the same amount as her previous contract of about $75,000 a year.

Nyx had recently been a featured player on NXT as a part of Fatal Influence, so it’s surprising WWE perhaps didn’t do more to try and keep her under their banner. In a new Fightful Select Answers Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp provided more details on WWE’s contract offer to the former NXT Superstar and how negotiations played out. With regards to why WWE wasn’t willing to give Nyx a higher offer, Sapp reported that it was hinted to him by WWE sources that Nyx’s contract would “start out” at the initial offer of about $75,000 a year and likely “escalate” in the future.

Sapp added that WWE is also negotiating “a little bit differently” from how the company has performed them in the past, which includes letting talents walk and replace them, especially wrestlers who are beneath the top levels. Additionally, Sapp reports that he was informed that if Jazmyn Nyx did move up to the main roster during her new WWE contract period, her salary would have increased “four to five times” the amount that was offered.
