As previously reported, AAA Mega Champion Dominik Mysterio didn’t work last night’s WWE Raw, as it was stated during the show that he wasn’t cleared to compete following his recent title defense against El Hijo del Vikingo at AAA Rey de Reyes, where he beat Vikingo in a No DQ Match. F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez has an update on Mysterio and the original plans for the wrestler for last night’s WWE Raw.
According to Alvarez’s report, the original plan for last night’s Raw was a match between Dragon Lee vs. Dominik Mysterio. However, Mysterio is now in concussion protocol stemming from an injury resulting from a chair shot during the match. Alvarez wrote, “Dom vs. Dragon Lee was scheduled for Raw, but it appears Dom is in concussion protocol.”
Dominik Mysterio and The Judgment Day were advertised to appear on last night’s Monday Night Raw, presumably to explain their recent actions attacking and betraying Finn Balor. However, it appears that plans changed as a result of Dominik’s injury. Rather than Dominik, fans instead heard from Liv Morgan, who revealed this was her plan all along, ever since she joined the faction.
Additionally, since Dominik could not wrestle Dragon Lee, WWE Intercontinental Champion Penta ended up facing Lee instead for the title. Penta beat Lee to successfully retain his title belt.
During today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer indicated that Dominik Mysterio got hurt and cut during the spot where Vikingo threw a chair at Dominik’s face.
It’s unknown how long Mysterio’s injury will keep him on the shelf or the severity of his concussion.
