Roman Reigns is back at the top of the world. The Tribal Chief defeated CM Punk in an instant classic at WrestleMania 42 Sunday to become the new World Heavyweight Champion.
So, after overcoming the Best in the World in epic fashion at The Showcase of the Immortals, what’s next for the OTC? According to Bodyslam+, sources indicate that feuds with two-time World Heavyweight Champion Gunther and the new Next Big Thing in WWE, Oba Femi, are the next two planned programs for Roman Reigns.
Reigns and Punk had a deeply personal rivalry going into their main event match last night, and their hatred for each other was so visible throughout the 30-plus-minute bout, as neither man refused to give an inch. Ultimately, Punk, who had pulled out all stops to overcome the Tribal Chief, ran out of gas and collapsed, allowing Roman to hit back-to-back Spears and put him away.
Meanwhile, Gunther and Oba Femi also had memorable outings at WrestleMania 42. Gunther defeated Seth Rollins in an instant classic, albeit thanks to an assist from Bron Breakker. Meanwhile, Femi vanquished Lesnar with a Choke Slam and the Fall From Grace in just five minutes to establish himself as the next big thing.
At the WrestleMania 42 Sunday post-show, The Ruler teased going after the OTC later this year. You can check out his comments below.
