As previously reported, music star Jelly Roll was featured on last night’s WWE SmackDown in a Miz TV segment with The Miz and Kit Wilson. Jelly Roll even ended up inadvertently knocking out The Miz.
Now, a new report from BodySlam+ has details on a rumored matchup for WrestleMania 42 involving the Grammy Award winner. It was previously reported by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select that WWE was in talks with Jelly Roll for a WrestleMania appearance.
According to BodySlam+, Jelly Roll has been discussed for a tag team match at WrestleMania, where the wrestler would team up with Royce Keys, formerly known as Powerhouse Hobbs in AEW. The storyline would reportedly focus on both men overcoming the past hardships in their lives.
If Jelly Roll is teaming with Royce Keys at WrestleMania 42, one could assume that their likely opponents will be Kit Wilson and The Miz. However, WWE has not yet announced a WrestleMania match for the music artist.
Royce Keys made his WWE debut in January at the Royal Rumble, competing in the men’s Rumble match. However, he’s yet to appear on WWE programming since that match, outside of appearing on the What’s Your Story? With Stephanie McMahon podcast, and his appearance being promoted on WWE TV.
Keys has worked multiple dark matches on SmackDown since the Rumble. It was reported earlier that WWE is opting to have him work dark matches to get him some in-ring time before the creative team finalizes his creative direction.
WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada. Both nights will air live on the ESPN App in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
