Big E Gives Health Update, Will Be Getting Neck Scans In Three to Six Months
Big E. has given a new update on his recovery from injury, noting that he’s getting neck scans sometime in the coming months to see if he’s able to return. The New Day member has been out of action since March of 2022 when he suffered a neck injury during a match on WWE Smackdown. He fractured his C1 vertebrae and C6 vertebrae and has been away from the ring since. He spoke with Kyle Odegard of Sports Talk Philly and noted that he will be getting scans in the next three to six months to see if his neck is good enough for him to potentially return to the ring.
“More than anything, I’m just taking every day as it comes,” E. said. “I know that sounds like a cliche. But I get scans again in another three-to-six months, and if they look great and the doctors say it’s healthy for me to go back, then that’s something where we’ll sit down and talk about it.”
He continued, “But I try not to spend too much time worrying about things I can’t control. It’s nice to know that if I get the opportunity to get back in the ring, and I can do it healthily, then let’s do that. Let’s attack it fully. But if not, I know exactly what I want to do, and I’m excited about that path, too.”
E. has undergone stem cell treatment to assist in his recovery and has appeared on WWE TV during pre-shows.
