ABC 24 in Memphis, Tennessee did a report on attorneys for Jerry Lawler and his family moving forward with subpoenas demanding answers for the recent passing of Lawler’s son, Brian Lawler (aka former WWE Superstar Brian Christopher and Grandmaster Sexay). Brian Lawler passed away last July 2018 from a reported suicide while he was in jail. You can check out a video of ABC 24’s report below.

Per the ABC report, Lawler attorney Jeff Rosenblum stated that Brian Lawler’s family is tired of waiting for answers from the Hardeman County Sheriff Department. He stated, “We were tired of waiting. This family has waited for over six months for the Hardeman County Sheriff Department to provide them with detailed explanation and the documentation as to what happened to their son and we decided to take the into our own hands.”

An investigation was reportedly opened into Lawler’s death after an apparent hanging attempt while he was in custody at a jail in Bolivar, Tennessee. He was later taken off of life support. PWInsider notes that the investigation into Lawler’s apparent suicide is said to be “still active.”

In the past, Jerry Lawler has expressed his belief that his son did not commit suicide while speaking to WMC-TV in August2018. Lawler stated at the time, “We’ve received literally countless calls, text messages from people, actual eyewitnesses, that were in the jail and saw things that happened on the actual day that Brian died that now has opened up a new can of worms. It just doesn’t seem like it was suicide.”

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Hardeman’s Sherriff’s Office reportedly have to provide information by February 26.
