WWE Reportedly Changed Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena Finish the Day of Wrestlepalooza

WWE Wrestlepalooza kicked off with a bang on Saturday as Brock Lesnar destroyed John Cena quickly. Dave Scherer noted on PWInsider Q&A that he now thinks WWE is now setting up Brock Lesnar to be Cena’s final opponent, given how the Wrestlepalooza match went down. He compared the setup to Rocky 3 and Cena being like Rocky and Brock being like Clubber Lang, with Cena coming back to get one final crack at Lesnar.

Interestingly enough, Bodyslam.net reports that as late as Saturday morning, WWE was planning to have Cena defeat Lesnar. It’s unknown what happened to cause such a sudden and major creative shift.
