New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) just crowned its 2026 New Japan Cup winner, and it’s Callum Newman. Newman defeated Yuya Uemura in the finals of the tournament in today’s New Japan Cup Final event to win the tournament.

At 23 years old, Callum Newman has now become the youngest winner of the tournament in NJPW history. However, he will now have his work cut out for him, as he will challenge Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Heavyweight Title next.

After his tournament victory, Tsuji came out to make an appearance, with Tsuji asking Newman if he was ready for their clash. NJPW also confirmed that the title bout will take place in just under two weeks at NJPW Sakura Genesis 2026 on April 4 at the Ryōgoku Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
