Chelsea Green was ruled out of her scheduled AAA World Mixed Championship defense alongside Ethan Page this past Saturday on the Lucha Libre AAA show due to an injury. Earlier in the episode, Green informed All Ego via FaceTime that she wouldn’t be able to participate in the match due to her injured right ankle.

La Hiedra eventually filled in for the former WWE Women’s United States Champion, joining Page to defend the tag title against Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana. However, things didn’t go as planned, as Vice pinned Hiedra to end the 97-day reign of Ethan Page and Chelsea Green. The Canadian is said to have picked up the injury during the Elimination Chamber Triple Threat Qualifier against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend.

Earlier today, PWInsider reported that WWE sources believe that Green suffered a bad bruise but didn’t break her foot or ankle. Fightful Select has now confirmed the same, reporting that it is believed to be a sprained ankle. However, there will be a “follow-up” today to assess Green’s injury.

The report also states that Green has received “a wealth of support” backstage following WWE: Unreal, in which Michael Hayes said that her role is effectively to elevate the likes of Tiffany Stratton rather than be a top star herself. Green has since reacted to Hayes’ comments during media interactions as well as on social media.
