CM Punk Opens WWE Raw, Takes Shots at Roman Reigns, Pat McAfee & TKO

CM Punk cut quite the promo to open up this week’s WWE Raw as he took shots at Roman Reigns, Pat McAfee, TKO, and many more. Monday night’s show had been scheduled to start with Seth Rollins, but Punk instead came down to the ring to kick off the show. He sat down in the ring and talked about the history of Houston wrestling before turning his attention to Reigns, his opponent at WrestleMania 42.

Punk talked about how Reigns isn’t at Raw and how two weeks ago he put Punk through the announce table with the help of The Usos, which led to Punk putting Reigns through the announce table alone last week. He said he was glad that Reigns hates him and that he won’t trade authenticity for approval. Punk said that Reigns gets sent to shows like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon because he’s safe, while you never know what Punk will say, and that Reigns uses his outside work as an excuse not to be at WWE. He said that Reigns shows up late, leaves early, and puffs his chest like he’s the Rock, but at least the Rock is (or was) a Hollywood superstar.

Punk took shots at Reigns for getting his job through his family connections and said Reigns “ate dog food for a weird old man,” referencing the infamous feud between Reigns and Baron Corbin. Punk said that he left WWE when the “weird old man” expected him to take everything and smile. He said that’s why Reigns hates him, because he can’t control him like he does his family.

Punk then turned his attention to McAfee, who is now part of the Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton feud, and said that McAfee had written a check that he can’t cash and to tell his agent (Ari Emanuel) to lower the ticket prices for WrestleMania so the families can come see him kick Roman Reigns’ ass.
