– We get the usual catch up video package.

– Next week is episode 100, featuring Rey Mysterio vs. The Monster Matanza Cueto.

Aztec Medallion Match: Drago w/Dragon Moon vs. The Mack: They go at it right at the bell, Drago takes the early advantage and they work into a quick back and forth until Mack stops Drago by shooting him the middle finger. They work into some lucha passes, Mack hits the running kick, covering for 2. The uppercut connects, and Mack again covers for 2. Drago cuts him off with an enziguri and then a tornado DDT and cradle for 2. Mack avoids a charge, and hits a series of running forearms and a Saito suplex. Moon distracts Mack, allowing Drago to attack with kicks and into the dragon’s tail cradle for the win. Drago defeated The Mack @ 3:52 via pin [*½] It started out well, but then Lucha Underground couldn’t help themselves and did another distraction finish. There has been too much of that and outside interference in season three. This had so much potential but ended up disappointing.

– Post match, Mack hits Drago with the stunner. The rest of the reptile tribe arrives and lays out the Mack.

– Dario Cueto is in the ring. Next week is episode 100 of the show, and is announcing Pentagon vs. Dragon Azteca Jr for a medallion. Also Johnny Mundo, Taya, PJ Black and Ricky Mandell vs. Prince Puma and a team to be announced later. Rey Mysterio vs. The Monster Matanza Cueto will main event. Dario calls out Mysterio, and he arrives. Dario says that Mysterio has to leave the building because Matanza is facing the Rabbit tribe. Mysterio says he won’t leave, o Dario threatens to fire Dragon Azteca if he doesn’t go. Mysterio promises to end the Cueto family legacy next week, and will them come for Dario.

5-0 Street Fight (Aztec Medallion Match): Cortez Castro vs. Joey Ryan: the ring is surrounded by police cars, crime scene tape and some swat team members with shields. Castro chases to begin, but Ryan bails to the floor but the swat guys refuse to allow him to escape. Castro attacks, hitting a tornado DDT ion the floor. Castro grabs a nightstick, they battle back into the ring and Ryan grabs a shield from a swat guy. He sets it in the corner, and grabs handcuffs. He uses then to beat Castro down, and Castro is busted open. Ryan grabs the nightstick and continues his attack. Ryan puts on a medical glove and lubes it up with oil. He does the PWG thumb in the bum spot, but fights back and slams him into the riot shield. Castro fires up and picks up the pace, hits an enziguri and grabs the nightstick. Ryan tries to run, they brawl to the floor as the swat guys surround them. Ryan slams Castro into the swat guys a few times, and tosses riot shields into the ring. Castro then slams Ryan off of the police car, grabs a baseball bat and misses Ryan, busting up the headlights of the car. Ryan grabs a sledgehammer, tries to attack Castro but breaks the windshield instead. Low blow by Ryan, and hits a rock bottom onto the hood of the car. They work back into the ring, Ryan sets up a pile of riot shields, but Castro grabs a shield and charges at Ryan, knocking him to the floor. They fight to the coffee and doughnuts table, and Castro pours “hot coffee” down Ryan’s pants. Castro gets a taser and shock’s Ryan’s balls. Ryan fights back and superkicks a box of doughnuts into Castro’s face. They brawl to the announce table, and Castro suplexes Ryan to the floor. Back in and Castro maces Ryan, and hits a running Michinoku driver onto the pile of riot shields for the win. Cortez Castro defeated Joey Ryan @ 13:18 via pin [***] This was a good match overall, the crowd really liked it which helps, but I think they got a bit too silly with the doughnuts and focus on Ryan’s balls. It was fun overall, but I think the early portion where they were working bloody brawl was the right tone for the feud, and wish we had more of that.

The Monster Matanza Cueto vs. Paul London, Saltador, & Mala Suerte: The Rabbit Tribe tries to play around and make Matanza dance with them. This was a bad move as it just angered Matanza. He attacks and looks to take control but the rabbit guys use their numbers game to take him down and take him back in the ring. London hits superkicks, they work triple teams and into a rapid-fire series of dropkicks. They dance, Matanza gets pissed and starts to brutalize all three opponents, tossing them around. The rabbit guys attack with confetti Easter eats and superkicks. London it’s the shooting star press for 2. Matanza hits a superplex on London, the wrath of the gods on Saltador and covers for the win. The Monster Matanza Cueto defeated Paul London, Saltador, & Mala Suerte @ 4:48 via pin [**] This was more fun than most handicap matches, but since they hold medallions, I hated seeing Paul London, Saltador, & Mala Suerte destroyed like this. Since we’re so close to the Gift of the Gods match, I felt that it was poor planning, find three other guys to get destroyed

– Puma is out, and speaks about next week’s big tag match. Mundo arrives and cuts him off, promising to take him to Slamtown at Ultima Lucha Tres. They recap their history together, and so Mundo asks if he is sure he can beat him. Mundo wants to make things interesting, and suggests a title vs. mask match at Ultima Lucha Tres. Puma agrees, but Dario calls bullshit there, but says they already have a mask match for that show. He then makes it a title vs. career match between Mundo and Puma. Puma attacks Mundo and holds the title high, and accepts Dario’s stipulation. Next week, Puma and three partners will face Johnny Mundo, Taya, PJ Black and Ricky Mandell next week.

Who Holds Aztec Medallions?
* Paul London, Saltador, Mala Suerte, Drago, Cortez Castro, and Son of Havoc.

– End scene.

– Thanks for reading.

From an in ring standpoint, there wasn’t much to write home about this week, it was solid but unspectacular. The biggest thing accomplished here was the build to next week’s show and Ultima Lucha Tres, which I felt was really well done. Not a bad week, but far from their best.
