Marty Scurll vs. Jay White: Scurll looks to work the arm to begin, and then grounds White. White quickly escapes to his feet. Scurll works quick escapes and they work to the ropes. They work into some smooth back and forth, Scurll looks for the chicken wing, but White escapees and hits a dropkick. White mocks Scurll and applies the Muta lock. Scurll makes the ropes, they trade pin attempts and Scurll gets a backslide, using the ropes but the ref breaks it up. Eye poke by Scurll, traps White in the ring skirt and then stomps on the hands. Post break, Scurll hits the apron superkick and back in the ring, covers for 2. White fires up with chops, but Scurll cuts him off, attacking the arm. Scurll runs into an elbow strike, and White lights him up with a combo of strikes. White picks up the pace, lays in uppercuts and hits a series of rolling suplexes, including one into the buckles. They trade back and forth, but White cuts him off with a flatliner and German for a good near fall. Scurll battles back with a brain buster, attacks the arm and works into an octopus and then the chicken wing. White fights, but is fading. White manages to escape, hits forearms and then counters a cradle, covering for 2. Scurll grabs the tag rope, but White rolls him up for 2. Scurll tosses White the umbrella, the ref takes it and that allows Scurll to low blow White and roll him up for the win. Marty Scurll defeated Jay White @ 12:27 via pin [**¾] This was a pretty good match, but I feel that they got way too cute with Scurll’s shenanigans down the stretch.
– Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian cut a short promo on Jay Lethal and KUSHIDA, building to their upcoming match.
– Next, Lethal calls out Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian for their anti-ROH agenda.
The Dawgs (Rhett Titus & Will Ferrara) vs. The Tempura Boyz (Sho & Yo): This should be Sho & Yo’s final ROH TV appearance since they are back full time with NJPW as Roppongi 3K. Sho & Yo rush the ring and attack right away. They hit Germans on the Dawgs, and then work double teams on Ferrara. Ferrara hits a jawbreaker and Sho gets sent to the floor. Ferrara follows with a tornado DDT on the floor. Titus takes out Yo, and back in Ferrara takes the heat on Sho. Quick tags follow; Titus beats down Sho and follows with a dropkick for 2. Post break, the Dawgs continue to work the heat on Sho. Titus then uses Ferrara as a weapon to attack, but Yo makes the save. Sho starts to fire up, makes a comeback and we get wholesale changes to Yo and Ferrara. Yo runs wild on Ferrara, hits the double knees and locks on a neck crank. The Boyz take out Titus and hit a powerbomb/back stabber on Ferrara but Titus makes the save. Titus drags Ferrara tit he corner, tags in and it breaks down, with the Boyz taking out Ferrara and working double teams and picking up a near fall on Titus. Sho gets tossed, Ferrara hits a lariat and the Dawgs hit who let the Dawgs out on Yo for the win. The Dawgs (Rhett Titus & Will Ferrara) defeated The Tempura Boyz (Sho & Yo) @ 10:22 via pin [**¾] This was another pretty good match, with The Dawgs picking up the win to gain some momentum as Sho & Yo were leaving.
– Cody and Bullet Club gloat about Cody’s contract and all the money he’s making. They then laugh and say nothing else.
– Caprice Coleman is on commentary, hyping neck week’s interview with TV champion Kenny King.
Winner Gets a TV Title Shot: Punishment Martinez vs. Shane Taylor vs. Chuckie T vs. Mark Briscoe: Martinez & Chuckie T into begin, Chuckie T lays in some shots and then tags out because Martinez got mad. Mark tags in and is more than willing to throw hands with Martinez, but Martinez takes control and that leads to Shane & Chuckie T tagging in. Shane and Martinez go face to face, Chuckie T hits a missile dropkick and then he and Mark hit dives onto the big boys. Post break, and mark and Chuckie T are battling back and forth. Nice stuff from both, but Martinez pulls Chuckie T to the floor and hits snake eyes on the apron. Shane & Martinez go face to face, but before they can get into it, Mark and Chuckie T beak it up. Martinez fights back, and starts tossing mark around with ease, and picking up a cover for 2. Chuckie T is back and suplexes mark onto Martinez, but Shane cuts him off. Shane hangs Chuckie T in the ropes and follows with a second rope splash for a near fall. Mark back in but Martinez cuts him off as Shane and Martinez take control and they finally collide for a double down. Martinez misses a splash and then Shane misses one. Post break, and the big hosses trade strikes center ring, Martinez takes control as Mark returns and works over Martinez, hits a fisherman’s buster and Chuckie T makes the save. Chuckie T hits soul food on Mark, but mark survives. Shane hits a pop up flapjack and lariat on Chuckie T, covering for 2. Shane takes out Martinez with a knee strike, mark hits Shane with a t-bone suplex, but Chuckie T hits him with sliced bread as it completely breaks down. Martinez follows with a step up dive to the floor, wiping out the pile. Back in and Martinez up top, Shane cuts him off but Chuckie T hits Shane with a short piledriver. Mark hits a DVD on Chuckie T and then jumps off of Martinez, who was laid out on top, and hits froggy bow for the win. Mark Briscoe defeated Punishment Martinez, Shane Taylor, and Chuck Taylor @ 13:45 via pin [***¼] This was a good and fun main event, in an organized chaos sort of way. Mark’s win is problematic on two levels, one because he got hurt after this was taped, and two because Mark dropping into the TV title ranks is too much of a been there and done that angle. There are too many fresh names to push towards that, including Martinez, who I feel is the next victim of Delirious’ wait too long to for a push booking style.
– Post match, Jay Briscoe arrives and questions Mark’s allegiance to the team, since Mark looks so focused on singles glory.
– Next week, the Addiction faces Jay Lethal & KUSHIDA.
-Thanks for reading.
– End scene.
