– Kelly Klien defeated Taeler Hendrix @ 7:40 via submission [**¼]

– This is a Women of Honor special, with matches taped back in either January or February.

Allysin Kay, Veda Scott and Amber Gallows vs. Thunder Kitty, Crazy Mary Dobson and Sumei Sakai: Thunder Kitty’s gimmick is that she’s on 85-year old, old time wrestler. Thunder Kitty started with Gallows, they did a lot of back and forth with Thunder Kitty trying to core the early win with the iron claw. Kay and Dobson then tagged in, they went too fast and Dobson had some start and stop issues, hurting the flow. Kay took over, catching a high cross and turning it into a suplex and then tagged on Scott. Dobson managed the dropkick, tagged din Sakai who hit the northern lights with a bridge for a near fall. Kitty, Sakai and Dobson all hit dropkicks, and then got a near fall on Scott. Kay ran in to cut off Sakai with the big boot, allowing Scott to hit a bulldog before the commercial. Post break, Gallows worked the heat on Sakai, hitting an X-Factor and then celebrating before covering for 2. Sakai struggled for and finally got a fisherman’s buster, and then tagged in Dobson who worked an overly frantic hot tag, and got a code red on Kay for a near fall. Kay cut her off, tried for a superplex and that led to a tower of doom spot with all six. It took forever to execute as they stood there for a while. It broke down from there into the big move buffet, Dobson hit the moonsault on Kay, but Scott and Kay cut her off and Kay finished with a spinning clothesline. Not a bad effort, it felt rushed at times, especially when Dobson was on offense,

– We get a video on Faye Jackson; she is an ROH trainee, and this is her first match.

Faye Jackson vs. ODB: ODB tried a go behind, and Jackson used her ass to escape. ODB decided she needed a drink, fired up and then she hit a shoulder block. They went back and forth, it appeared as if there were edits as the angles changed oddly, and Jackson hit a cross body for a near fall. Jackson then hit a series of running ass attacks for a near fall. ODB then fought back with a sloppy broncobuster, Jackson then sloppily escaped the TKO and they went to the corner. ODB then slammed Jackson’s face to her crotch and then finished with a Thesz press off the ropes. Not good, too many odd spots and the typical ODB bullshit offense to be enjoyable.

– We get a video package for Hania vs. Mandy Leon.

The Howling Huntress Hania vs. Mandy Leon: Nice back and forth action to begin, working good counters and both getting some time to shine. They worked the test of strength, monkey flip into a double bridge spot. Leon showing some good counter wrestling, but Hania took her down with the shoulder block. They worked more counters into near falls for both, and then Hania laid in some chops. Leon back with the head scissors, and Hania bailed to the floor. Leon to the apron, Hania tripped her up and dumped her face first. She tossed her to the barricade and we took a commercial break. Post break, Hania hit a missile dropkick for a near fall, Leon then came back with a jawbreaker and went up top, cut off but she then got a victory roll for 2. Hania then hit a spin kick for a near fall. Hania taunts Leon, they then traded rights and Hania raked the eyes. Leon then sent her to the corner and hit a neck breaker into the Havana dream, but Hania escaped and Leon covered for a near fall. Leon charged into a boot, they then battle don the ropes and Leon got a head scissors off the ropes. She went up top, misses the moonsault. They then went back and forth, and did the double clothesline for a double down. They traded strikes from their knees; Hania then laid in kicks as Leon challenged her to do so. Leon fought back; hit a corner clothesline and another. The bulldog followed, and Leon covered for a near fall. Hania then hit a jump kick and then another in the corner, they worked another series of countered and then Leon locked in the koji clutch, but Hania got the ropes. They slapped each other repeatedly, Leon missed a charge and Hania slammed her to the mat by her hair and then hit the code breaker for the win. They had a lot of good ideas, and they worked hard, but it went way too long and they started to run out of ideas. I think if you shorten this up, it comes off way better.

– BJ Whitmer cut a really good promo on Kelly Klien.

Taeler Hendrix w/Truth Martini vs. Kelly Klien w/BJ Whitmer: After a face off, they locked up and battled around the ropes. Hendrix used her speed to avoid Klien, but Klien locked in an abdominal stretch. Hendrix reversed and then got a sleeper. Klien countered that and turned it into a bear hug; Hendrix with a head butt to escape. Klien tossed her to the floor, and we took a commercial break. Post break Hendrix walked into a superkick for a near fall. Hendrix rolled to the apron, back in and delivered forearms to Klien. A sidekick followed and then an awkward kick in the ropes, knees and a scissor kick all connected. Hendrix’s offense looks slow motion here, not bad, but really slow at times. Hendrix then ht the side slam and covered for 2. Hendrix then kissed Klien and hit a tombstone, and Klien kicked out. Whitmer then distracted Hendrix, Klien with a head butt and then rolled into the choke and Hendrix had to tap. I think Kelly Klien carries herself well and comes off as someone with a lot of potential; Hendrix isn’t bad, but feels very slow in execution and that hurts the pacing of her matches.

– Next week is a clip show.

* End scene.

* Thanks for reading.

The final score: review Not So Good
The 411
I appreciate ROH doing something different and not going with another clip show that you can easily skip. The Women of Honor project seems to have been going on forever with no real exposure, so I am glad that they got the chance this week. It wasn’t a bad show, but it wasn’t very good either. It’s a work in progress, and I am willing to give them a shot, but it certainly needs work and some more thought put into it if they are going to televise the matches.
