Hikaru Shida Captures Vacant TBS Championship On AEW Dynamite

Hikaru Shida is the new AEW TBS Champion, winning the vacant title in a Survival of the Fittest match on Wednesday’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Shida won the six-woman match on this week’s show over Kris Statlander, Maika, Harley Cameron, Persephone, and Queen Aminata to win the title.

Cameron was the first person defeated, as Persephone snuck up behind her for a Razor’s Edge for the pinfall. The action went on for a bit after before Shida rolled up Maika to knock her out of the match. Persephone then eliminated Aminata, leaving it down to Statlander, Shida, and Persephone.

The three went head to head until Statlander was able to put Persephone away. Shida was able to lock Statlander in an ankle lock, and Persephone hit Statlander with the title belt. Shida then locked in a crossface and the referee called the match at 17 and a half minutes, as Statlander was out.

You can see clips from the AEW Dynamite match below. This marks Shida’s first run with the AEW TBS Championship; she is a three-time AEW Women’s World Champion, last holding that title in October and November of 2023. The TBS Championship was relinquished by Willow Nightingale in May due to injury.
