Hulk Hogan’s Death Reportedly Being Investigated for Medical Malpractice

– TMZ reports that law enforcement authorities are investigating medical malpractice as the cause of the death of WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan. Hogan died on July 24 in what was later ruled to be a heart attack. However, new details have emerged stating that medical malpractice might have led to his passing.

According to the Clearwater Police Department report on the 911 response to Hogan’s home on the day of his passing, an occupational therapist was at Hogan’s resident when he stopped breathing. TMZ notes that the report, which is now said to be on “lockdown,” states that the therapist told responding officers that Hulk was the victim of medical malpractice.

The therapist claimed that during a recent operation, a surgeon “severed” his phrenic nerve. It’s unknown if the recent surgery was done to repair his heart or related to a neck procedure. The phrenic nerve stimulates the diaphragm, which controls breathing. TMZ reports that sources indicate that Hogan did not have a “chest-clenching episode” before he died, but he simply stopped breathing. Also, TMZ reports that Hogan’s widow, Sky Daily, was the one who called 911 after his breathing stopped.

TMZ also reports that Daily later confirmed that Hogan’s phrenic nerve was “compromised” during one of his recent surgeries.

In a later update, the Clearwater Police Department said the investigation into Hogan’s death remains ongoing. A statement from the department reads, “We have been in communication with family members — including his son, Nick, and daughter, Brooke. The unique nature of this case has required us to interview multiple witnesses and seek medical records from a variety of providers, and our detectives continue to do that. All of this takes time.” It continues, “The Hogan family has been appreciative of our efforts and our communication with them.”

Additionally, TMZ reports that there were conversations between the officers at the scene and the therapist regarding what was told, and this footage is on body cam. As previously reported, Brooke Hogan, Hogan’s daughter, has expressed wanting an autopsy to be performed on her father’s body. She also reportedly told Bubba the Love Sponge that she learned from authorities that “somebody bad” may have happened to her father. She also released a statement on her Instagram Stories that the police body cam footage from the morning of Hogan’s death could provide more information.

According to one of the later updates from TMZ, Daily revealed that an autopsy has since been performed on Hogan’s body, but she declined to share any of the autopsy’s results. She also confirmed that his body has still not been cremated.
