Jacob Fatu Considered a Match With Gunther After Seeing His WrestleMania 42 Entrance

Jacob Fatu says he thought about what a match with Gunther would be like after seeing the latter’s entrance at WrestleMania 42. Gunther and Fatu were in separate matches at the PLE, as Fatu faced Drew McIntyre and Gunther battled Seth Rollins. Both men were victorious in their matches, and Fatu said in an appearance on Club 520 that he found himself imagining a bout with Gunther when he came out for his match with Rollins.

Fatu was asked if he wanted to call out anyone on the show, and he said that he had considered a match with Gunther when he saw the Career Killer’s entrance. You can see highlights below:

“Man, I ain’t gonna call him out. But when I was in my room with my own, eating my In-N-Out burger, I was scrolling through the phone and I thought about it. And I was like, ‘Oh, shit. If me and Gunther was to go at it?’

And I swear, I swear to it, it never even crossed my mind. But when I’m sitting there and I see his entrance — it’s when I heard his entrance. They brought back his entrance music, his old one. And for some reason Uce, it just brought me chills. For some reason, I don’t know. And then I’m like, ‘Nah.'”

On a Potential Match With Gunther:

“I mean, I’m not saying anything gonna happen, but that is the answer. It is Gunther. Definitely Gunther…I’m glad he didn’t hear [this], because he got some big hands.”
