Jake Roberts On Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard Jumping To WWE In 1988
On the latest episode of The Snake Pit with Jake Roberts, the WWE Hall of Famer talked about the changes in Jim Crockett Promotions leading to Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard jumping to WWE. You can check out some highlights below:
On whether he considered going to WCW when the NWA was first purchased by Ted Turner: “No, there wasn’t. Not at the time, man. I was locked in on WWF, and that was it. Yeah, it’s kind of hard to get the best pony running.”
On Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard joining WWE: “Well, I thought it was great. I mean, I certainly have all the respect in the world for their work. But Vince, his animal was a different pony man, and it was hard to ride sometimes.”
On which was a better worker – Arn or Tully: “I like Arn. He’s got a special spot for me. For me, you know, and he’s just been a phenomenal worker and had so much to give. I don’t know if they got everything that he had to offer, but he damn sure gave him a lot.”
