Je’Von Evans says that he absolutely feels the pressure when people call him the future of WWE, but it’s not something he struggles with. Evans had a fast rise in 2025, competing at the top of the NXT card and even having matches on Raw, Smackdown, and Saturday Night’s Main Event. Speculation about his main roster call-up has been rampant, but as of now he is still on the NXT roster.

Evans was asked about the pressure in an appearance on the Battleground Podcast. He noted that he does feel like he has to hold up his part in how fans view him, but he doesn’t have issues balancing it with what he’s doing. You can see the highlights below:

On Feeling Pressure Over Being Called ‘The Future’

“Oh, of course. I always feel like — it’s a chip on my shoulder, you know what I mean? Because I feel like I always have something to prove, especially knowing that there’s a lot of people like you said, I got brought in and and I bring like this new flavor to wrestling. Young, excited, all this, you know? So I feel like I have to hold my end of the bargain up. But yeah, that’s always in in my head.”

On Balancing the Pressure:

“Honestly, like balancing wise, I don’t really have trouble with it. I just go out there and have fun. So it’s always on top of my dome, but it doesn’t really bother me. It doesn’t really affect me.”
