Jim Ross Addresses D-Von Dudley’s Racism Allegations

Current AEW commentator Jim Ross recently reacted to D-Von Dudley’s racism allegations on an episode of his Grilling JR podcast, where he discussed the alleged incident with Conrad Thompson.

Last year, D-Von Dudley caught everyone off guard when he claimed that he faced racism from Ross during his time in WWE. JR later refuted the accusations, suggesting that he never made a racist remark toward D-Von.

In a recent video on his YouTube channel, D-Von Dudley doubled down on his claims, as he detailed two separate incidents when Ross made racist comments about him.

Now, in the latest edition of the Grilling JR podcast, he claimed that he has ‘never been a racist,’ urging everyone to ask some of the African-American athletes that he has worked with during the course of his 50-year career. The legendary commentator added that he is open to reconnecting with D-Von and that he doesn’t remember having “any negative exchanges” with the now-retired pro wrestler.

“How many times do I gotta address it to satisfy everybody? I am not a racist. I have never been a racist. Ask some of the African-American athletes that I’ve been around and worked with in my 50-year career. They’ll say the same thing, and like I said before, when you and I first talked about this, I don’t remember the first cross word I had with D-Von.

“The boisterous one was Bubba. But not in a bad way. He just had no problem expressing himself, and Bubba had a lot of ideas. He was a throwback. A main event guy that wanted to be involved in booking his angle, and I loved that. If more guys would do that, and today, they just wait for someone to tell ‘em what they’re gonna do tonight, and that’s the wrong approach in my opinion. But I’d have no problem reconnecting with D-Von… I’ve never gotten mad at him. I was bewildered about how this could happen. Because, like I said, I don’t remember any negative exchanges with him.”

Ross is the former WWE Head of Talent Relations. D-Von Dudley formed half of the Dudley Boyz with partner Bubba Ray Dudley.
