Joe Gacy Reveals WWE’s Original Plans for Wyatt Sicks

Former WWE Superstar Joe Gacy recently revealed the original plans for the Wyatt Sicks faction.

The Wyatt Sicks, featuring Uncle Howdy, Nikki Cross, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, and Erick Rowan, debuted in WWE during the summer of 2024 in what was seen as the company’s tribute to the late, great Bray Wyatt.

During a recent appearance on The FiveMarks, Joe Gacy revealed that there was an idea within WWE for the Wyatt Sicks faction before Bray’s unfortunate passing. The former WWE Champion passed away on August 24, 2023, at the age of 36.

Gacy confirmed that Bray was originally planned to lead the group.

Here’s what he said:

“I know there was always an idea for the Wyatt Sicks group, because I had heard rumblings about it before I was ever even approached about it. I think the idea was that obviously Bray was going to be the leader at the time. And then, unfortunately, he passed away, and it was like a crazy moment where there’s a guy named Rob Fee, who works in the character development. It was shortly after he passed away, he reached out to me and told me, ‘Hey, Windham thought a lot of you. He really wanted to come down to NXT and work with you.’ And this is the first time I was hearing any of this, and it blew me away, because I had no idea at the time he wanted to work with me at all. And selfishly, I wish we got to even do just like a promo on NXT.

It led to conversations between me and Rob, and then he basically told me, ‘Hey, there’s an idea, so don’t get worried if you don’t do NXT TV as much.’ So, he basically said there’s this idea, there’s this group idea. I heard it, and I was like, ‘Okay, that’s awesome!’ But, you know, with the company and the business itself, things change every day; you never know until it happens. And then we kept in contact and chatted, and he said, ‘Okay, it sounds like it’s going to be at this time, at this time,’ and then out of nowhere, I got a call, and that’s kind of when things started taking off.”

As it turned out, the entire faction was released from WWE in April 2026.
