Keep Refreshing For The Latest Results

Hello, everyone and welcome to our live TNA Impact coverage on 411! I’m Jeremy Thomas, here with you in Himanshu’s place this week as internet issues have denied us his presence. Sorry, you’re stuck with me. Anyway, we’re coming out of TNA Final Resolution this week and there’s a lot of fallout to address. Plus we have a X-Division Championship #1 Contenders Match, Dani Luna vs. Indi Hartwell in a Dog Collar Match, and much more! Should be fun stuff all in all.

As a reminder, the GoFundMe for Larry’s kids is still active and if you can make a donation, that would be awesome. Thank you so much to everyone who’s done so thus far.

* We kick of with a recap of Final Resolution including Stacks defeating Steve Maclin for the International Championship, JDC not quite getting the job done against Frankie Kazarian, and the latest in the NXT invasion of TNA.

IT IS MY DESTINY! (aka TNA Impact theme song)

* We start off the show with Frankie Kazarian coming with the World Title for a new King’s Speech segment. Frankie welcomes El Paso to the show of champions and the King’s Speech. He says he needs people to keep the squealing to a minimum because he has a lot to say. He defeated JDC at Final Resolution and “retired him” to retain the title, so he’s right where he belongs on top. He’s leading TNA into the new era of AMC.

Frankie tells the fans to ask Walter White to step aside, Negan to take a hike and Rick Grimes to step aside because he’s the new face of AMC. (He’s clearly too afraid of the Boulet Brothers to mention them.) He says the fans are not happy with him as champion but their anger is his happiness. Nothing makes him smile more than a room of salty, angry marks so please, keep it up. He says they can be as angry as they want, but at the end of the day they would sell their dirty mothers to be in his position. He’s their King, the TNA World Champion, and will be for a very long time, so get used to it.

MIKE SANTANA IS HERE! Mike is in the crowd and he tells Frankie to shut up. He says first and foremost, where are his people in the 915? He speaks a bit of Spanish for the crowd. He addresses Frankie and says he can’t be mad. Frankie saw an opportunity, took it and seized it. He did what he said he was gonna do. Mike doesn’t like it, but he respects it. But he’s a hot-blooded Latino so of course he’s pissed off! He says he’s going to channel his anger more strategically so he wants Frankie on high alert until he takes what’s his back.

Santana says next week it’s Team TNA vs. Team NXT in a steel cage match. He says NXT are why he’s not World Champion today and he’ll take them all out on his own, but Santino says he needs a team. He says when he steps in the ring and wins the match, he’s pulling the trigger on the target. He says on January 17th at Genesis, he’s facing Kazarian for the World Title.

Kazarian says that doesn’t work for him, brother! Santana says that if Frankie doesn’t shut up, he’ll have to come down and stomp his head in. Santana says the title is coming back home to Papi!

* Matt and Tom hype the upcoming AMC debut next month, then hype the card.

* Team NXT is in the back and Lexis King says TNA just won’t die like a soul-sucking cancer. He says Matt Cardona will go anywhere with a wrestling ring, but he’s nothing more than a glorified backyard wrestler. High Ryze say that The Hardys’ souls belong to them, while Brooks Jensen says they have nothing to lose next week but everything to gain. Stacks says he tried to warn Santino but he stuck his nose in his business like everything. He says Santino is a horrible father and didn’t want him in TNA, didn’t want him proposing to Arianna. He says next week they’ll get what they want and take over TNA.

* We’re back with a recap of Leon Slater’s performance at NXT Deadline. Then we got the backstage segment from this week’s NXT where Ava announced the fatal four-way for next week.

Lexis King vs. Matt Cardona

Circle and lockup to start, King backed into the corner and they break. King talks shit and shoves Cardona, who shoves back and hits a couple of armdrags into an elbowlock. But King fights out and sents Cardona into the corner, he runs into knees and Cardona with a missile dropkick as King goes to the outside. Cardona with a dropkick through the ropes!

King rolled back in, Carona follows and King makes it to the apron, where he snaps Matt’s arm into the top rope. Cardona sent shoulder-first into the post. Kicks by King, a stomp onto the albow and a cover for two.

King into the shoulderlock, Cardona gets to his feet and elbows his way out but King with a double knee drop to the elbow. King with strikes to Cardona in the corner and a boot choke. King tells the ref to make him a sandwich and charges in — but stops short and slaps Matt. He Flair walks but Cardona out of the corner with a lariat.

Cardona battles back, big Flatliner! Elbow strikes to King in the corner, he charges in for a kick to the head. Cover gets two. Unpretty-Her attempt countered, King with chops and a takedown and knee to the back of the head for two-plus.

King goes for his cane, the official stops him and Stacks is here! He gets hit with Radio Silence but King rolls him up for three.

Winner: Lexis King (4:59)
Rating: ** 1/2
Thoughts: Perfectly solid match for the time it got. Decent psychology, slick in the ring, no complaints.

The two NXT guys attack Cardona post-match and King hits Carona in the shoulder with the cane. But here’s Steve Maclin to make the save! King and Stacks bail and Maclin chases them off before coming back to check on Cardona.

* Lei Ying Lee and Xia Brookside are backstage. Lee says something in Chinese and Brookside says Final Resolution was emotional as they beat the crap out of each other. But that’s what they do; they elevate each other. Lee says they respect each other and when they hit the ring together, they improve each other.

Robert Stone shows up with Tessa, Victoria and the Milla. Tessa says she’s accomplished things Lei could only dream of. Xia reminds them that they lost to The IInspiration. Teassa says the only reason she hasn’t taken the title is she hasn’t decided to yet.

* Before the next match, the Elegance Concierge has a gift for all the fans, introducing Heather and M.

Harley Hudson & Myla Grace vs. The Elegance Brand

Hudson and Grace attack before the bell and take the Elegance ladies down. They get knocked out of the ring. The bell rings with Heather and hudson. Hudson picks Heather up for a slam, Grace in and hits a senton for two. Hudson tags back in, shot into the ropes, blind tag by M who hits a step-up senton for two. Hudson sent into the corner and M stomps her down, then boot chokes her before talking shit to Grace. She pulls Hudson into the middle of the ring for two.

M tweaks her angle in an exchange and hits a stomp, Heather tags in. Drop-toe hold and a senton from M. Grace tags in, clotheslines M and then hits a kick to Heather, slam and a pin attempt which M breaks up. Hudson in now, helps Grace into a Code Red on M. M rolls out of the ring, the concierge is on the apron with the present — Hudson takes it and slams it over his head. Grace rolls up Heather, but M helps her reverse it for three.

Winner: The Elegance Brand (3:15)
Rating: **
Thoughts: Not the best of matches, to say the least. A little sloppy, it feels like it was rushed from its short time.

* The injury report notes that Matt Cardona is out of next week’s cage match due to the shoulder injury from earlier. Mustafa Ali suffered abrasions from his horse drag at Final Resolution and is day-to-day. JDC has hip inflammation and joint irritation. He is questionable. Santino Marella has a jaw contuston from Stacks’ cheap shot and he is cleared.

* We get a recap of Rich Swann turning on AJ Francis to let Leon Slater get he win. Gia is backstage with Swann and asks him about whether First Class is done. Swann says the only thing first about First Class was AJ putting himself first. He recalls being back in a plan with AJ and thinking AJ could be a threat. He turned to AJ, who smiled at him, and asked him about being a pro wrestler. Fast forward and they’re in the same company and they linked up. Swann didn’t listen when people said not to trust him, and he found out at the Call Your Shot Gauntlet. He’s tired of being treated like he wasn’t a champion and main eventer. To answer Gia’s question, First Class is over and he won’t be held down —

And of course AJ blindsides him, steps on him and says he’s always been first class. And if you ain’t First Class, your last.

In the ring, Hotch hits Dez with a big double stomp but comes off the ropes into a standing Spanish fly from Cedric! More chaos, BDE hits a springboard cutter on Hodge for a nearfall!

BDE goes to the top and takes aim — FROG SPLASH on Jake! But Cedric with a Lumbar Check to BDE for three!

Winner: Cedric Alexander (13:13)
Rating: *** 1/2
Thoughts: That’s what I think of when I think of a good TNA TV match. Chaotic but never sloppy, everyone looked great. Fast-paced and a ton of fun.

* The System say recruitment happens tonight. Everyone leaves but JDC stops Eddie. He says he’s bringing it at Genesis and Eddie wouldn’t want it any other way.

* Santino is with Arianna when Frankie walks up saying anyone should get a match with him but Santana. Santino agrees that Kazarian should have other challengers. A battle royal will take place with the winner facing Kazarian on TNA Impact. Frankie is not happy but he knows AMC wants him. Santino says it’s for Impact in three weeks, not AMC.

Team NXT walks up and brags about taking Cardona out. Arianna tries to play peacemaker and Stacks tells Santino to stop being a controlling father. Arianna slaps Stacks and tells him to watch his mouth. Team NXT walks off.

Sinner & Saint vs. Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards

Eddie and Williams start off, lockup and Eddie takes over with a wristlock. Icarus reverses, puts Eddie against the ropes but he holds on for the roll-up attempt and hits the inverted atomic drop. Myers tags in, Icarus whipped into the corner and Eddie sends him into a high knee by Myers for two.

Myers gets to his feet and fights free but gets kneed, Williams into the ropes into a Michinoku driver by Myers! Edwards gets the hot tag and takes out Williams and Icarus. Edwards charges into a kick by Williams but shrugs it off, Backpack Stunner and Icarus breaks it up. Icarus takes out Myers, Williams is in there with Edwards and hypes up — charging dropkick in the corner! Icarus tags in, double back suplex, cover but Eddie kicks out at two.

Williams back in, but Myers pulls Icarus out of the ring and hits him with a back suplex on the apron. He’s in and takes out Wiliams, Boston Knee Party finishes it.

Winner: The System (4:52)
Rating: ** 1/2
Thoughts: Perfectly good match for the time it had, no complaints.

Show of respect from both teams post-match.

* The Hardys are out for their promo! Matt has the mic and says that it feels good to be back in El Paso. Especially in the El Paso Coliseum where he can feel Eddie Guerrero around them. The crowd chants for Eddie, and Matt says Eddie will forever be a member of Team Extreme in their hearts.

Matt says they defended their titles at Final Resolution at High Ryze and it’s time to put an end to the war next week in the steel cage match.

Jeff says it’s good to be in El Paso and that they were going to team with Cardona next week but Santino will find a replacement. Jeff says whoever it is has to love TNA as much as them. Matt says they have to protect TNA and what they’ve built He says 2026 will be their biggest year EVAH! Jeff says NXT keeps invading and making noise, but they will shut them up next week until they fade away and classify as obsolete.

THE RIGHTEOUS ARE HERE! They step into the ring and Vincent has a mic. He says this is amazing. For those who don’t know who they are or pretend like it, he’s Vincent, the other is Dutch. Matt says they know who they are, but don’t know why they’re here.

Vincent says they’re not here to hurt them, and they admire and idolized the Hardys. He says the Hardys are eternally loved by everyone. He’s getting kinda giddy standing in there and says Matt and Jeff are gods walking among mortals.

Dutch takes the mic and says “Hello, gentlemen!” He says it’s truly an honor. Their history, their accolades, their wonderful fans (who are booing up a shitstorm). Matt calls them Die-Hardys. The fans chant and Vincent dances to it, awesome.

Dutch says the Die-Hardys are like nothing the world’s seen. And he wants to be clear: they stand there not to replace them, but because of them. Vincent wants to be transparent. They aren’t threatening and are grateful. He says Matt and Jeff changed tag team wrestling which is why they are forever. He says “Don’t I seem like someone you can trust?”

Matt asks if they just came down to interrupt them. Vincent says that’s all they wanted to say, but also wanted to wish them luck in their cage match next week. Dutch says they will be watching, because they want to bear witness to their ascension to the immortals they are destined to become. Dutch says they’re righteous, Vincent says they’re many — dig what he’s saying? The Righteous then leave.

Thoughts: Not bad work in the promos, but it went on a little too long and lost its momentum.

* Santino and Arianna are out here. Santino says Matt Qdoba can’t participate in the cage match next week. He analyzed the roster and said that his replacement is — SANTINO MARELLA! Arianna looks… concerned.

Dog Collar Match
Indi Hartwell vs. Dani Luna

Luna with the pre-match cheap shot as the collars are being attached. She showbots and Indi gets up — whipping Dani with the chain! She attaches the chain and the match is officially on.

Dani rolls Indi into the ring and follows, but gets pulled into a sidewalk slam for two. Indi puts Dani on the apron and hits an uppercut and kick to the head.

Dani goes to leave — but the chain stops her! They play tug of war — Luna is sent into the apron! Indi pulls Dani toward the ring, but Dani blocks it and yanks the chain, sending Indi hard into the middle rope.

Back in by Dani, she wraps the chain around Indi’s face repeatedly and wrenches on it. Forearm to the shoulders by Dani. Indi fights back but gets knocked down, Indi tries to fight back as we go to break.

We’re back as Dani takes Indi down for a two-plus count. Dani knocks Indi to the floor and follows on the other side of the ringpost, pulling her back-first into the post. She grabs Dani, pushes her back into the corner and puts her on top. Dani with a punch but Indi shoves Dani to the apron! Indi up top, gets knocked to the mat, Dani back on the top and takes a punch. Indi pulls Dani INTO A SPINEBUSTER! Cover for thr-NO!

Dani shoves Indi into the referee! Ref down, Dani with a Luna Landing! Cover but the ref is down. But she recovers enough to get the three!

Winner: Dani Luna (15:26)
Rating: ***
Thoughts: I’m not huge on modern dog collar matches as a rule. This had some problems as it was a little start-stop at times, but they used the chain well and it felt like a real battle.

And with that, we’re done for the night!
