Keep Refreshing For The Latest Results

Hey there everyone, it’s Friday so it’s time for WWE Smackdown. Last week Cody Rhodes reclaimed the WWE title from Drew McIntyre after weeks of McIntyre interfering in the business of Cody and Jacob Fatu, which sets up Cody defending against his former mentor and good friend Randy Orton at WrestleMania. To that end Cody and Randy will sign the contract for their Mania bout tonight, which does mark the last chance for Drew to get involved and sign his name or steal the contract if we’re going for some kind of shenanigan based Mania match. Watch out for Fatu as well, he’s still got beef with Drew. We’re also getting Jelly Roll on Miz TV tonight, so expect Danhausen shenanigans to be attached to that in some capacity. Last week Damian Priest and R-Truth became number one contenders for the tag team belts, so expect them and Solo’s Manufactured Fame Template to start beefing while the Wyatt Sicks lurk and eventually cost the island boys the belts. Jade Cargill has a non-title match with Michin tonight, one imagines Rhea Ripley will be watching closely. Giulia needs direction, as does Tiffany Stratton, as does Kiana James for that matter. Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss are likely next to challenge the Irresistible Forces for the women’s tag team belts, because we haven’t seen enough of those teams going at it I guess. Johnny Gargano is still depressed after Oba Femi massacred him last week, but Alex Shelley is coming around to trying to help him while Chris Sabin isn’t happy about that idea. Ilja Dragunov is likely to face Kit Wilson tonight, hopefully we can build Ilja back up after he spent a few weeks looking incredibly pedestrian. Carmelo Hayes is likely to have another US title defense. Still nothing for Shinsuke Nakamura, no sign of the Street Profits, no update on Jordynne Grace yet after she suffered an injury last week. But WrestleMania is coming up quicker each week so let’s see what twists and turns Smackdown has for us tonight.

Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett welcome us to Phoenix, Arizona for the show then we get a recap of Cody Rhodes winning the WWE title last week in case you missed it.

After that we see the usual wrestlers arriving.

Smackdown GM Nick Aldis checks on the contract in the back, but his concentration is broken by Drew McIntyre walking through the crowd with a mic and telling him to shove that contract up his ass. He climbs onto the announce table to claim that the title was stolen from him, and Aldis just had to have Cody as champion. He demands Aldis come out and make this right. Aldis comes out and says there’s nothing to make right. Part of being champion is defending the title, all he did was make Drew do that and Drew lost fair and square. Aldis gets in the ring and says Drew should be looking at the consequences of his actions. Drew says Fatu got involved and Cody got his corporate belt back. Aldis objects to being called a corporate stooge, then says Drew was the one who cost Cody and that’s rich from a guy who keeps complaining about being screwed. Well it looks to Aldis like Drew wanted to keep Cody out of the picture because Cody beat him the first chance he got. Drew storms into the ring now and says this is bullshit, and again threatens Aldis. That brings out The Samoan Werewolf Jacob Fatu with a mic of his own. Fatu gets in the ring and stares down Drew before saying there’s nothing to fix. Drew wouldn’t even be champion if not for Fatu, so let’s state the facts. Fatu fixed the situation last week, so Drew is no longer champion. So this isn’t about Aldis, or Cody, or anyone else. If Drew wants to point fingers and blame people he should only blame Fatu because Fatu’s the one who screwed him. So what the hell is Drew gonna do about it? Man I love Fatu’s presentation. Drew says he’s done with all of this, and quits then exits back through the crowd. Drew getting to the point of quitting tracks as a character beat at least, though he’s likely to show back up.

In the back Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Falir walk, they’ll challenge for the women’s tag team belts tonight. We also see Miz preparing for Miz TV with Jelly Roll.

Elsewhere in the back Solo Sikoa and his goon squad have the lantern, they say last week went perfect as the Wyatts aren’t contenders and they’ve got the lantern. He gives Tama Tonga the lantern since Solo and Talla Tonga will take on Uncle Howdy and Erick Rowan. Everyone leaves but Tama and Shinsuke Nakamura shows up to ask when Tama will decide to be his own man. They do share some Japanese before Solo comes back over to tell Nakamura to stay the hell away from his family then he leaves with Tama.

Back to the ring, here come the Wyatt Sicks and we head to break.

Post break in the back Aldis talks with Fatu and Fatu is pissed but over comes Trick Williams. Trick tries to talk with Aldis and Fatu tells him to shut up as the only job Trick has is Fatu whipping his ass. Aldis tries to calm things down but Fatu isn’t hearing anymore and walks off. Trick tries to get Aldis to do his job, so Aldis says Trick can wrestle Fatu tonight. Yeah, Drew’s costing Fatu that one. Trick objects and Aldis says one wrestler already quit but he’ll happily add another to the unemployment line if Trick keeps this up.

We head back to the ring and here comes Solo Sikoa and company.

Match #1 – Tag Team Match: Uncle Howdy and Erick Roway w/ Joe Gacy, Nikki Cross, and Dexter Lumis vs. Solo Sikoa and Talla Tonga w/ JC Mateo, Tonga Loa, and Tama Tonga

Rowan and Talla start, they run into each other a few times but neither man bumps then Talla lands a right hand and shoulder blocks Rowan down. Talla with a headbutt, which is about a fourth of his total offense, then tags in Solo. Solo with a shoulder block but Rowan comes off the ropes and drops him with a shoulder block then tags in Howdy. Howdy attacks Solo from behind and then stomps away on him in the corner. Solo fights back with punches then tags in Talla. Howdy fights out of the heel corner but Talla yanks him out of the ring and bounces him around the ringside area to send us to break, thankfully I found a Netflix feed though so I’ve got you all.

Talla with a World’s Strongest Slam to Howdy on the announce table which does not break. They head back into the ring and Talla retains control. Almost no reaction for Talla’s offense. Solo tags back in for, you guessed it, more headbutts. Cheap shot from Talla, man the crowd is silent as Solo grabs a nerve hold. Howdy with some punches but he turns into a Spinning Solo for a 2 count. Talla tags back in as we come back to broadcast. Chop from Talla then a corner avalanche followed by a running Samoan Drop for a 2 count. Solo back in as commentary fellates the mobility of Talla, good grief. Solo teases a Sister Abigail but Howdy counters into a back suplex and both men are down. Both men tag out and Rowan gets to run wild on Talla and hits a running DDT then an ugly dropkick. Rowan with a cheap shot to Solo then a running crossbody to drop Talla. Rowan up to the second rope for a diving uppercut and a 2 count, that woke the crowd up a bit at least. Solo blind tags and hits a gamen giri then Talla follows with a clothesline. Rowan blocks a Solo Splash then Howdy tags in, he tries Sister Abigail but Solo counters into a Samoan Spike and Rowan saves the match. Talla and Rowan brawl to the floor and both men are down. Gacy and Lumis wander over to jaw with JC and Loa, that turns into a brawl and Tama gets involved then Solo with Spike’s to Gacy and Lumis. Back in the ring Solo goes for another Spike to Howdy but Nikki gets the lantern which distracts Solo, Nikki gets it and looks to escape, that allows Howdy to hit Solo with Sister Abigail and win.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Uncle Howdy and Erick Rowan won in 10:40

Rating: 2 stars
Thoughts: Slow, plodding, and there hasn’t been an interesting version of this match yet. The closest we get to interesting here is Solo becoming the weak link eating falls to Howdy, but they really need to accelerate this story because for how much time and energy they’ve put into it they’re not getting anything out of it.

Post match Tama attacks Howdy from behind and regains the lantern, because God forbid we end this overwrought and uninteresting feud.

In the back Priest and Truth watch that match and Truth mistakes Solo Squad for the Judgement Day. Priest just goes along with that as Angel and Berto come over. Los Garza complain about how the match last week went, and Priest says they can just have a fair tag team match tonight.

Jade Cargill heads to the ring and we head to break, she’ll take on Michin after this break.

Post break we find Kiana James and Giulia in the back, they address Tiffany Stratton and Giulia laughs at Tiffany wanting a women’s US title shot. James will shut up Tiffany tonight and prove Tiffy Time has expired. OK then.

Back to the ring and here’s Michin from behind.

Match #2: Jade Cargill vs. Michin

Non-title affair here. The bell sounds and Michin lands a dropkick then some corner strikes. Leaping hurricanrana from Michin sends Jade out of the ring then she tries a dive but Jade just walks away, so Michin adjusts and then hits a suicide dive. Back in the ring Jade lands a pump kick. Scoop slam from Jade then she moves things to a corner and stomps away at Michin. Some more body blows from Jade, Michin tries to fight back with strikes but then she avoids a charging Jade who drops to the floor. Apron penalty kick from Michin then she jumps but Jade catches her and hits a Fall Away Slam on the floor to send us to break.

They head back into the ring and Jade retains control. Hard corner whip from Jade, that looked pretty crappy from both her and Michin taking it. School Boy from Michin gets 2 then Jade clotheslines her down again. Jade grabs a chin lock and holds it until we rejoin the broadcast. Michin fights free but then runs into a Spinebuster for a 2 count. Michin avoids a Chokeslam but then has to counter a Jaded with a Stunner. Tornado DDT, after a slip, from Michin gets a 2 count. Jade counters Eat Defeat but Michin hits a Pele kick then a Shiranui. Michin follows with Eat Defeat but Jade rolls out of the ring after taking it. Jade avoids a dive from the apron, then powerbombs Michin onto the barricade. Back in the ring Jade kills Michin with a Chokeslam and Jaded to win.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Jade Cargill won in 8:23

Rating: 2.5 stars
Thoughts: Probably would have been better if it were only 5 minutes, and frankly Michin got a lot of offense in here for her card position as compared to Jade’s.

Post match Cathy talks with Jade in the ring, Jade just takes the mic and asks if we saw what she just did to someone who believed in her own hype. Everyone gets real quiet in the hall around her, but the world is telling her to be afraid of Rhea Ripley. She downplays Ripley by putting herself over, and says Ripley isn’t a threat. She’s never been afraid of anything and isn’t going to start today. To close she says she’ll beat Ripley at Mania and prove she’s always on top. That brings out Rhea Ripley which really wakes the crowd up, Ripley gets in the ring Jade just powders to her first real bit of heat tonight. Ripley picks up the mic and notes Jade is running from the fight, and then says after Mania Jade will be Ripley’s bitch.

In the back Cody is here to ask Aldis about the Drew situation, Aldis says not to worry about it and focus on the contract. Sami Zayn wanders into frame and says he just came over to congratulate Cody on winning the title. Cody also doesn’t want a fight with Sami, but knows Sami said the same thing to Randy. He says Sami deserves a title shot and Sami needs to stop being demure about it, and Sami then says he can’t believe Cody thinks that he’s politicking here. Yes he gives Randy respect and admires him, but he doesn’t look up to Cody because they’re friends. And friends are equals, Cody might be champion again but Sami still thinks they’re equals and he shouldn’t be talked down to. Cody says he looks up to Sami and is inspired by him, and Sami might not look up to him and that’s fine, just look at the title. Cody leaves and Sami has another mild meltdown before Aleister Black and Zelina come over to mock him. Black asks if the title might just not be meant for Sami. That pisses Sami off and Sami tells him to stay away.

After this break we’ll get the women’s title match.

We come back to Michin and B-Fab in the back, Ripley come over to put over Michin’s effort. Michin says she doesn’t need pity, B-Fab thanks Ripley and says Michin just needs to decompress then those two head out. Ripley jus can’t make friends it seems.

Back to the ring Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss head to the ring. As the challengers head down we recap them winning last week to get this shot. The Bella Twins show up before the champs, they’re here to make everything worse. Nikki and Brie get mics, this isn’t going to go well, they play with the crowd then bring up that they’re from Arizona. Nikki says they’re not here to wish anyone good luck, they’re here to say they’re next in line for the belts. So they’ll be sitting ringside for this match. Well that sucks. We head to break after that.

Post break the Irresistible Forces head to the ring. Oh we’re getting the special introductions.

Match #3 – Women’s Tag Team Title Match: (c) Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend) vs. Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair

Cheap attack from Jax and Lash so the heels have early control of things. Bliss and Charlotte fight back then low bridge Jax and dropkick Lash out of the ring. Bliss then with a cannonball senton but Jax catches her and drops her onto the ring apron. Charlotte then with a plancha onto Jax but Lash then drops her with a pump kick. Lash and Jax jaw at the Bellas as we go picture in picture.

Bliss and Jax head back into the ring and things settle a bit. Some leg attacks from Bliss to try and hinder Jax, but Jax then lands a clothesline and tags in Lash. Lash with some control work then she goes for the arm of Bliss and follows with a weak clothesline. Jax tags back in and resumes the heat segment on Bliss. Bliss avoids a corner rush but Jax cheap shots Charlotte which sets up the illegal double team on Bliss for a bit. Lash tags back in and Jax hits a side slam then Jax follows with a jumping Splash for a 2 count. Jawbreaker from Bliss just before we come back to broadcast. Bliss almost tags out but they have to pretend she didn’t for drama. Bliss gets caught by Lash but slips free then finally tags in Charlotte. Charlotte with a crossbody to Lash and a boot to Jax. Chops to Lash then a walk over clothesline. Charlotte heads to the apron and boots Lash, Jax tags in and Charlotte with a jump but Jax catches her with a Samoan Drop for a 2 count. Jax wants the Annihilator but Charlotte avoids it then heads up top for a Moonsault, it connects but Lash breaks up the pin. Bliss with a leaping DDT to Lash, on the floor Jax then rams Charlotte into the apron, then Jax pulls Nikki Bella into a Charlotte boot. Brie gets annoyed and Jax then headbutts her down. Back in the ring Charlotte avoids a leg drop and thrust kicks Jax a few times before tagging in Bliss. Natural Selection to Jax then Bliss wants a Twisted Bliss but Brie attacks Jax to get the match thrown out.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Irresistible Forces retained the titles via disqualification in 8:07

Rating: 2 stars
Thoughts: We’ve seen a lot of these teams in various capacities and the Bellas being around made the finish painfully obvious. Lash really should also be coming along more than she is as a performer by this point.

Everything breaks down post match into a brawl which leads to Jax and Lash ultimately standing tall with Jax and Lash hitting Nikki with the old Death Sentence.

In the back Truth and Jelly Roll talk then Priest comes over and they all talk. Priest takes Truth away then Jelly finds Randy Orton and they put each other over and Randy warns Jelly that Miz might just talk too much on Miz TV. Pretty good advice overall.

Back to the ring here’s Damian Priest along with R-Truth for our next match. Truth gets to rap them to the ring which is nice and sends us to break.

Post break Bliss and Charlotte run into the Bellas in the back and everyone complains at each other. The Bellas are up next for the tag belts apparently. Ugh, none of this is good.

Back to the ring and Los Garza got the jobbers entrance.

Match #4 – Tag Team Match: Damian Priest and R-Truth vs. Los Garza (Angel and Berto)

Angel and Berto attack at the bell and isolate Priest in the ring. Priest gets pissed and drops both of them with clotheslines then stacks both of them in the corner and unloads with strikes. Truth tags in and follows a Priest Flapjack with a Scissors Kick. Angel attacks Truth and lays in mounted punches then lands headbutts. Berto tags in and holds Truth for a running knee from Angel. Truth hits the ropes and lands a headsicssors then a corner splash. Angel tags in and opens the ropes so Truth goes spilling to the floor. Berto then attacks Priest and we get stereo Orihara moonsaults and Angel removes his pants as we head to break.

Even my feed just cut to commercials there. We come back to Berto working over Truth. Truth gets cornered and Angel tags in then Berto with a cheap shot to Priest and Angel follows with a superkick to Truth for a 2 count. Suplex from Angel then he mocks Truth with a You Can’t See Me then Truth hits a suplex into a Stunner to shut him up. Berto tags in but Truth tosses him to the floor then low bridges Angel before tagging in Priest. Priest gets to run wild with punches and kicks to both Angel and Berto. Old School Punishment from Priest to Berto. Priest with the turning clothesline and Angel breaks up the pin. Agnel pulls Berto away from a Razor’s Edge then blind tags and Priest takes some tag team offense but they can’t find a 3 count. Berto tags back in and tries a Moonsault but Priest gets the legs up. Angel avoids South of Heaven but Priest then kills him with a Razor’s Edge. Truth shows back up and gets the tag, that sets up stereo finishers and the win for Priest and Truth.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Damian Priest and R-Truth won in 11:05

Rating: 2.5 stars
Thoughts: Perfectly acceptable match, Priest and Truth going over was academic but getting Los Garza some more airtime isn’t a bad thing. The Tag Team division badly needs to be rehabbed after the Wyatts and Solo Squad have ruined it, Priest and Truth as champs while Fraxiom, the Guns, and Los Garza chase them could work quite nicely.

In the back Johnny Gargano is still depressed on a carte as Candice LeRae and Alex Shelley talk to him. In the background Jade is talking with B-Fab. Candice takes Johnny’s crate to the ring. Chris Sabin comes over to talk with Shelley and they still have some tension, Sabin got them a match next week against Fraxiom and Shelley is hyped for it.

Elsewhere Miz walks and finds Danhausen. Danhausen shills his shirt, and Miz is surprised that Danhausen has merch. Danhausen wants a talk show, Miz gets pissy then Danhausen curses Miz for being a party pooper. We’ll get Miz TV after this break, and something bad will happen to Miz.

We come back to Miz in the ring with Miz TV set up. His mic has issues, because he’s cursed, but he gets a second one and brings out Jelly Roll. Both men have some fun on the mic and Jelly talks about the road to WrestleMania and specifically Cody vs. Randy and the contract signing tonight. Miz sees the potential in Jelly and offers to mentor him in wrestling, Jelly declines and says he loves Miz but he knows the history of Miz stabbing partners in the back. Miz then puts over Jelly’s redemption story, but two years ago Miz was there to help Jelly when his obese body fell. That was the moment Jelly knew he needed to change his life. Jelly then asks if Miz is taking credit for Jelly losing 250 pounds, he wont let Miz do that and gets heated about Miz being that disgusting a person. Miz liked Jelly better when he was fat. Jelly says fat or skinny he’ll whip Miz’s ass. Miz demands respect as the locker room leader, Jelly calls him a locker room loser. That brings out Kit Wilson with a mic, Kit says Miz should stop wasting time talking with Jelly as Jelly is the problem. Jelly says this is getting weird and he likes Wilson, we all like Wilson a bit then he does Wilson’s pose. Wilson doesn’t like the face tattoos or criminal history. Wilson runs down Jelly as someone running away from who he is, Jelly is fat phobic! He says Jelly doesn’t inspire anyone, he just promotes an unhealthy beauty standard and Jelly is toxic. They get to shoving then Jelly punches out Miz, because Miz is cursed, and Wilson then powders. Well that was a segment.

In the back Ilja Dragunov and Apollo Crews laugh at Miz’s misfortune then Carmelo Hayes comes over. Hayes is finally starting to get Ilja and they talk. Ilja says he’s stuck between complete confidence and the opposite, and that’s the only way he knows how to live and he doesn’t know peace. Hayes says he takes shot to make shots, and he knows Ilja gave him a shot and notes there’s not a long line of guys lining up to fight Ilja. Ilja says he can’t fight Hayes while he’s still fighting with himself.

Tiffany Stratton talks to the camera but Chelsea Green comes over so Tiffany just shoves her wheelchair away then walks and talks to say she’s coming for the women’s US title after beating Kiana James right now. That does get Tiffany heading to the ring and us heading to break.

In the back Kit Wilson and Miz talk, Wilson will get a match wit Aldis. Danhausen comes over to ask if Miz lost any teeth, and he could have defended Miz out there. He says there’s only one thing Miz has to do to reverse the curse, Miz wont do it and doesn’t believe in curses. I’m sure that wont bite him in the butt later.

Back to the ring and here comes Kiana James along with Giulia.

Match #5: Tiffany Stratton vs. Kiana James w/ Giulia

25 minutes between matches, not so good. They tie up then Tiffany grabs a side headlock then does a few up and overs before catching James in a Sunset Flip for 2. James with a blow to the body then some corner work. Tiffany fights back then does some gymnastics, James avoids a mid rope hip attack then Tiffany gets caught between the ropes with a Deal Breaker, it’s just a Codebreaker. That lets James take over as we head to break.

Post break we find Chelsea Green and Alba Fyre heading down to the ring while James and Tiffany keep wrestling. Handspring back elbow from Tiffany then a handspring Stunner off the ropes for Tiffany for a 2 count. James blocks the cartwheel Alabama Slam into a Falcon Arrow for a 2 count. Tiffany avoids a powerbomb then hits the Finlay Roll but Giulia pulls James out of the ring to avoid a potential Prettiest Moonsault Ever so Tiffany with a suicide dive onto James. Green tries to attack but Giulia intervenes to avoid a DQ situation. Back in the ring Giulia takes an accidental boot from James then falls onto Green and Fyre, Tiffany then hits James with the Finlay Roll and Prettiest Moonsault Ever to win.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Tiffany Stratton won in 7:32

Rating: 2 stars
Thoughts: Fine but nothing special, and the borderline clown fiesta finish didn’t help. James is likely poised for a good run post Mania but that means going into it she’s kind of in this spot where she’ll lose these matches.

In the back Trick talks to Cathy, he runs his mouth for a bit until Sami comes over to humble him a bit. Sami asks how Trick’s been going lately, he’s just been running his mouth and can’t back it up. Sami knows Trick is embarrassed and should be. Trick says Sami can be hating as much as he wants but if he didn’t have a match he’d drop him. Sami says he’s here every week and real easy to find.

Back to the ring here’s Jacob Fatu, his match with Trick will be up after this break.

We come back to Trick getting his entrance, his chant remains over like rover.

Match #6: Jacob Fatu vs. Trick Williams

They circle, Fatu looks mildly disgusted with Trick before they tie up and move around the ropes before Trick corners Fatu. Right hand from Trick but Fatu welcomes the fight and unloads on him with kicks and punches. Trick fights back with chops, then jumps over Fatu and rams him into the corner but Fatu no sells it then fires up and unloads on Trick again. Running back elbow from Fatu levels Trick then the 10 headbutts in the corner. Fatu no sells a misdirection attack from Trick then clotheslines Trick down and follows with a senton then handspring moonsault. Fatu clotheslines Trick out of the ring and that sends us picture in picture.

After a bit Fatu tries a suicide dive but Trick cuts him off with a right hand and both men wind up on the floor. Trick and Fatu brawl on the floor for a bit, this favors Fatu who unloads with chops against the barricade then bounces Trick off the ring steps. Eventually they head back into the ring where Trick lands a nice wheel kick to drop Fatu. That allows Trick to grab a chin lock. Fatu fights back as we come back to broadcast, and he launches Trick into a corner. Back elbow from Trick but Fatu then hits a lovely Whisper in the Wind for a 2 count. Corner headbutts from Fatu then he rallies the crowd and tries a hip attack but Trick cuts him off with a tornado kick. Backhand from Trick then a leaping neckbreaker for a 2 count. Fatu avoids a side kick and lands a right hand but then runs into a Flapjack. Now it’s Trick who gets the crowd to chant and hits a Uranage for another 2 count. Trick lines up the Trick Shot, but Fatu lands a superkick then pop up Samoan Drop and the corner hip attack. Fatu up top, Swanton Bomb connects but only a near fall. Trick rolls out of the ring and Fatu follows with a sort of dive, that was a little awkward. Both men wind up in front of the announce table but of course now Drew shows up to attack Fatu. That lines up a Trick Shot back in the ring for Trick to win.

OFFICIAL RESULT: Trick Williams won in 11:14 or so, stopwatch issues

Rating: 3 stars
Thoughts: Finally a good match. Trick winning via interference was obvious, but that’s not a bad thing. Fatu getting to rev the engine every now and then is great, because the man carries a very unique presence in the ring when he gets going.

Post match Drew with a Claymore to Fatu. You know, that should get Drew arrested if he really quit but logic of course will not apply.

After this break we’ll get the contract signing between Cody and Randy.

The table is set up in the ring and Aldis is there to bring out the relevant parties. Before that he wants to address things, and says welcome back Drew and as a welcome back gift he can wrestle Fatu next week on Smackdown. As for business at hand, time for Mania main event contract signing. First out comes Randy Orton so the crowd can warm up, then Cody Rhodes so they can keep singing. Somewhat mixed reception for Cody this week, he might be the one playing tweener come Mania with how beloved Randy has become. The two men share a quick hug before getting down to business. They’ve both got mics as they sit while the crowd chants for Randy. Cody speaks first and says his first WWE match was against Randy, he went on to watch Randy’s career and he wished he could be like that. Then Cody left, but Randy supported him then when he came back alone he didn’t have his brother or his wife, but he had Randy. He’s always been proud to be Randy’s boy, then he signs the contract and passes it to Randy. Randy considers then stands, he seems conflicted. After a second Randy says he doesn’t think Cody understands. He needs this, and that title. This was supposed to be easy and he could take out Drew. Cody wants to take the weight off Randy’s shoulders, he expects the best Randy ever at Mania. The man who just won the Chamber and he wants the Legend Killer at Mania, the master of the RKO. But that’s when the bell rings. After the main event, when the last bell rings Cody will still love Randy. That’s enough for Randy who does sign the contract. They shake hands and hug then Randy rams Cody into table before taking him to dick kick city. That seems like an error, people love Randy right now and turning him is just odd. Randy tears at Cody’s shirt and tosses him out of the ring then launches him over the announce table. He gets the ring steps then brains Cody with them. Aldis shows up to wonder what’s going on, Randy just shoves him down as Cody is bleeding all over the place. That leads to Randy bouncing Cody off the upright ring steps then laying him on the announce table and then battering him with punches. Randy gets the base of the ring steps, and there’s a very loud “Randy” chant which should tell you again this was a bad idea, and he sets them up against the announce table then drapes Cody’s head in the crevice before shoving Jelly Roll away as he and others were trying to talk sense into Randy. After some consideration Randy retreats back up the ramp leaving the bloodied Cody laid out. Of course Randy runs back down with a chair and bashes the steps around Cody’s head then stands over him like a serial killer. He sets up the chair in the ring and sits on it now holding the WWE title across his lap. The crowd cheer this image, so we’re gonna get a repeat of last year when heel Cena got cheered despite all the dastardly things he did just because people didn’t want to boo him. How are we making the same mistake all over again? Anyway that ends the episode.
