Ken Anderson Recalls Losing Money In the Bank Briefcase Due to Mistaken Injury

Ken Anderson won the Money in the Bank briefcase in 2007 only to lose it due to injury, and he recently looked back at that point. Anderson was a guest on Steve Fall’s The Ten Count and talked about winning the briefcase in 2007 and noted that the shoulder injury he suffered, which caused him to lose the briefcase to Edge, was ultimately determined to be a hematoma and not a shoulder tear as expected.
You can see some highlights from the conversation below, per Wrestling Inc:
On his early run in WWE beating former champions: “It was just ‘hey, let’s start doing this thing and see how it goes.’ I don’t think they had longterm plans or anything like that. I think that it was talked about that like ‘they want to build you up,’ but there was no specific set [plan.]”
On his injury that led to him losing the Money in the Bank briefcase: “Went down to Alabama [the day after losing the briefcase], and I’m sitting on his table and he’s like just feeling my arm and he’s like ‘that’s not a tear.'”
