As previously reported, AEW star and former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega appeared in a video message at NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling 2026, proposing a Triple Threat Match to Oleg Boltin for Power Struggle, before appearing in person and knocking out Boltin and Tsuji. That matchup is now official, as Kenny Omega faces off against Boltin and Yota Tsuji at NJPW Power Struggle 2026. NJPW also confirmed several other bouts.
If Omega manages to win the bout, he will receive a shot at the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Omega is a former IWGP Heavyweight Champion and has not held the belt since January 2019.
