Kevin Nash Thinks Hell In a Cell Matches Shouldn’t Go Outside the Cell

On the latest episode of Kliq This, Kevin Nash talked about the logic of the steel cage and Hell in a Cell formats, arguing that the modern trend of taking the fight outside the structure ruins the storytelling of the match. You can check out some highlights below:

On Getting Your Feet in the Cage Holes to Climb:

“When I worked my Hell in the Cell, I said, ‘I don’t have a problem doing Hell in a Cell. I don’t have a problem getting color, I don’t have any problem doing anything,’ I said, ‘But my firm belief is that I won’t f**king budge on this is, cage match is there for a reason, and I’m not gonna f**king go outside of the cage. Like, that’s the blow off. You don’t have a cage match just because that’s what this event is. If it’s Hell in a Cell, that’s great. But it’s Hell in a Cell. It’s not Hell on the Cell. It’s not Hell off the Cell. It’s Hell in the Cell match. So as soon as you f**king take it outside of the cell, you no longer having the match that you’re f**king supposed to be having.”

On the Lack Of Logic:

“That’s just how I feel. If it’s not the case, then obviously you don’t need to be in Hell in the Cell match if you still think you should get away from the person.”
