Leighty’s Retro Review: WWF Survivor Series ’93
-Written: 11.20.25

-Run Time: 2:47:32
-Finally back to the WWF after a 4 show run in WCW. Next up is Starrcade to end 1993 and then I will try to get as much of 94 done as I can before the library leaves Peacock. Away we go!
-Announce Team: Vince McMahon and Bobby “The Brain” Heenan
-Boston Garden, Boston, MA
-Nov. 22, 1993
-Attendance: 15,509
-PPV Buys: 180,000
-We start with Lex Luger, in a sweater, with his family in their home by a fire as they wish us a Happy Thanksgiving. Poor guy! I don’t remember them making Hogan do stuff like that.
-We get the Star Spangled Banner because the Main Event is USA vs. EVIL FOREIGNERS!
-Vince and Bobby welcome us to the show and Vince notes Radio WWF is next to them and has Gorilla and JR on duty. Vince tells Bobby if he gets out of line, Gorilla can eliminate him. Huh as that’s exactly what happened not long after this show.
Survivor Series Elimination Match: IRS, Diesel, Atom Bomb, (w/ Harvey Wippleman), and Rick Martel vs. The 1-2-3 Kid, Marty Jannetty, Razor Ramon, and “Macho Man” Randy Savage
-Perfect was supposed to be on team Razor, but couldn’t go, flaked out, whatever and Savage takes his place. That’s a more than adequate replacement. Also a kind of cool symmetry as the previous year Savage pulled Perfect out of retirement in a match that featured Ramon. Savage was in the middle of his feud with Crush and took this spot just to be in the same building with Crush according to Heenan. There’s a lot of nWo flare with this match. It takes a little over a minute before they figure out Martel is starting with Ramon, which makes sense as these two faced off for the vacant IC Title on RAW (won by Ramon). Razor with a hammerlock, but Martel gets a trip. Ramon counters back into the hammerlock but gets caught with an elbow to the face. Razor lands a SLAP to the face. Martel floats over in the corner and ends up getting a roll over into a pin for two. SOS Slam gets two! Ramon with an atomic drop which sends Martel into a right hand from Savage. Inverted Atomic Drop and Martel bails as he tags Bomb. The crowd is fired up which is always a great sign. Lock-up and Bomb shoves Ramon back into the corner. Another try and Ramon ends up on his ass as Bomb is winning the power game. Side headlock from Bomb. Ramon shoves off, but Bomb runs him over with a shoulder tackle. Loud “Razor” chant. This crowd is 1000 times better than the crowd at the BattleBowl show I reviewed before this one. Test of Strength and Bomb breaks Ramon down to his knees. Razor is really selling his ass off for Bomb here. Razor rights to his feet and gets a suplex for two Martel tries to save and accidentally hits Bomb. Wippleman in and he gets decked by accident. The heel team nearly comes to blows as IRS tries to make peace and Savage eggs them on from the top rope much to the crowd’s delight. That’s great! Kid in and he gets a shot at Bomb and a bit of a size issue here. Bomb lifts Kid off the mat by the throat and tosses him across the ring. Speaking of size disadvantage, Diesel in and he THROWS Kid across the ring in impressive fashion. You forget sometimes how much of a bump machine Kid was before the injuries. Big Boot from Diesel! Side Walk Slam is countered by a head scissors and the tag to Savage. He comes off the top with a double axe and everyone on Team IRS comes in to feed for him. Savage sends Bomb and Diesel into each other and then a high knee sends Bomb to the floor. Slam on Diesel and Savage comes off the top with the Flying Elbow to send Diesel packing at 10:16.
-Team Razor up 4-3: Martel rushes in and attacks Savage from behind. Savage responds with a backdrop and runs Martel into the corner. Martel backs off and Savage was IRS, who tags in for the first time. So Jannetty is the only man that hasn’t entered the match yet. Savage ducks a clothesline and gets a cross-body for two. Clothesline and another by Macho. Tag to Razor and he works the arm and shoulder. Martel gets a knee to the back of Razor from the apron and then tags back into the match. Heenan asks Vince if he has ever cheated anyone. Vince: “Of course not.” Sure! IRS back in and he drops an elbow for two. Reverse chinlock which annoys me as it’s a match with 6 other men. I understand they want to build heat and cheat behind the ref’s back (as they trade off without a tag) but ugh. Razor and Martel collide in the ring but IRS is in to cut off a tag attempt. Razor gets his feet up to block in the corner and tags in Savage. He runs wild on IRS and sends him into the corner with a knee to the back. He drops IRS throat first on the top rope and gets a slam. Here comes Crush as Savage is on top and he spots him. Savage bails after Crush, but gets stopped by Razor and IRS. They get him to head back into the ring. Savage wants Crush to hit the ring and IRS gets a roll-up at 16:45. Savage sprints after Crush.
-Tied at 3: It took 17 minutes, but Marty is finally in the match. “IRWIN” chant from the crowd as Marty works a side headlock. Hip-toss followed by a dropkick for two. Martel back in and he works Marty over in the corner. Bomb in and he hits a nice belly-to-back suplex. We get an abdominal strech because to kill some time before Marty rallies and gets a tag to Razor. Razor’s Edge to IRS and see ya at 20:29.
-Team Razor up 3-2: Martel attacks from behind and everyone ends up in the ring. Razor’s Edge for Martel, but IRS uses the briefcase to knock Razor to the floor. He can’s beat the count and is out at 21:39.
-Tied at 2: Martel and Kid start things up again and Martel shows off with a cartwheel. Kid back with a Japanese armdrag and he hooks an armbar. Martel to the eyes and Bomb is back in. Kid gets a trip and then kind of hits a dropkick as Bomb tossed him in the air. Suicide dive is caught and Bomb slams him on the floor. Sling shot clothesline! Always a cool looking move for a dude that size. Kid avoids a charge and gets a roll-up for two. He lands a spinning kick, but can’t make the tag. Martel in and he drops an elbow to the back. Gut-wrench suplex gets two! Vince notes Kid has a lot of heart and we get this from Heenan: “kick him in the heart then.” That made he laugh. Hot Tag to Marty! Knee to Martel followed by a hard whip to the corner. He rams Martel into the buckle ten times and gets a two count. Kid back in and we get double back elbows. Kid gets a sunset flip in the corner and Martel is gone at 26:49.
-Team Razor up 2-1: Bomb rushes in, but Marty got the tag and gets a roll-up for the win at 26:56.
Survivors: Marty Jannetty and The 1-2-3 Kid at 26:56
-This was fun at times and started to drag a little, but they always had something happening to keep things exciting. The crowd helped as they were into it and Savage was a big plus. ***1/2
Survivor Series Elimination Match: Shawn Michaels and The Knights vs. Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Bruce Hart, and Keith Hart (w/ Stu Hart)
-This was billed as a Family Feud Match and thus Ray Combs is the ring announcers. He introduces the Hart Family members sitting at ringside including Helen and Stu. This was supposed to be Jerry Lawler leading The Knights as his feud with Bret Hart was still rolling along. Lawler had some serious accusations thrown his way, so he was suspended and pulled from the match. Combs does a comedy routine at Shawn’s expense. The Knights are The Red Knight (Barry Horowitz), The Blue Knight (Greg Valentine), and The Black Knight (Jeff Gaylord). Ray Combs joins Heenan and Vince on commentary. Owen wants to start with Shawn, but Shawn wants a piece of Bruce to see if he is rusty. Shawn gets a side headlock as Vince notes Bruce last wrestled in 1991. The Red Knight gets involved and gets knocked down. Bruce chops The Blue Knight on the apron and then sends Shawn to the corner. He goes back after the other Knights and Shawn accidentally knocks his Knights off the apron. Keith in and Heenan laughs at the face he is a fireman. Vince notes Keith last wrestled in 1989. Shawn with a hammerlock and after some counters tries for a suplex which is turned into a small package for two. Keith gets an arm and takes it to the mat. Shawn escapes and gets a slam. The Red Knight in and I wonder how hard it was for him to not pat himself on the back. Owen in and gets a hip-toss and another. A dropkick sends Red back to his corner and the Black Knight gets the tag. He gets punched by each other and sent back to his corner. The Blue Knight in and we know it will take him some time to get going. Bret in and gets an atomic drop and then an inverted one for two. Keith back in and gets a fireman’s carry (duh) into a take down. Bruce back in as Heenan yells for Stu to wake up. Vince tells Heenan that Stu is going to come over. Heenan: “that will take two hours and we will be off the air.” I choked on spit laughing so hard. Heenan just seems hell bent on getting Combs to break with all these jokes. Bruce with a backslide on The Black Knight for two. Shawn in and he stomps Bruce to the floor. Bruce sends Shawn into the corner from the apron, but gets caught in the wrong corner. He ducks a clothesline and drops Shawn with one to leave both men down. Black Knight back in as Bruce falls backwards and makes the tag to Bret. Roll-up gets two! Small package gets two! Back breaker and Bret comes off with the middle rope elbow for two. Shawn makes the save! Owen in with a spinning heel kick and everyone in the ring. We get a four way Irish Whip and Shawn collides in the middle with his knights. Owen gets a dropkick and The Black Knight is done at 10:45.
-Team Hart up 4-3: Bret and Owen make a wish with The Red Knight’s legs. Keith back in and he continues to work the knee. We get a boring chant from some in the crowd. It is a weird match as 3 guys are in masks and half of Harts are guys they haven’t been in the ring. Vince notes it is a see-saw match-up. Keith gets caught in the wrong corner as The Knights go to work. Blue Knight with a chop to the chest. Apparently that’s a “weenie slap” according to Combs. Shawn sling shots in with a splash. Blue Knight drops a leg as the crowd is getting restless. Shawn off the top with a forearm as the crowd starts clapping to get some life into this match. Hammerlock by Shawn and he runs Keith shoulder first into the top buckle. Heenan continues to make jokes about firemen. Red Knight in as Combs says “this is painful to watch.” He said it! Keith gets sent into the bottom rope with a catapult by The Red Knight. Blue back in and drops a leg on the arm. Hammerlock Slam! I always loved that move. Shawn off the top, but misses and the tag is made to Bret. Shawn quickly bails and tags The Red Knight. Sharpshooter and Red Knight gives up at 18:08.
-Team Hart up 4-2: Blue in and he throws Bret to the floor. Keith checks on Bret while selling the shoulder. Shawn off the apron with a double ax to the shoulder as the ref forces Keith back to his corner. Blue gets a suplex back in the ring for two and then drops an elbow, which also gets a two count. We see Stu working on Keith’s shoulder. Heenan gets in another good line about Stu breaking a hip if he keeps doing that. Shawn gets a flying shoulder on Bret for a two count. Reverse chinlock because that’s a way to get some excitement in this one. Bret fights to his feet, but gets caught with a knee to the gut. Blue in with a shot to the abdomen for a two count. Chops from Blue, but he runs into a boot from Bret in the corner. Clothesline from the middle rope by Bret and that leaves both men down. Owen in and hits a standing dropkick. He pounds away with right hands and plays to the crowd. Slam followed by a middle rope elbow gets two. Shawn makes the save but ends up on the floor and gets decked by Stu. Owen slings to the floor with a crossbody. Owen up top and he catches the Blue Knight with a cross-body for two. Double clothesline sends Shawn to the floor. Bulldog to Blue and Sharpshooter sends him packing at 23:46.
-Team Hart up 4-1: You know if Shawn could find a group of friends to hang out with his luck would probably turn around. I am sure things would click for him more than hanging around with Knights. Shawn gets bounced from brother to brother and Bruce in to get a two count. Ray notes he would lay there and get it over with. A few years ago, I don’t even notice that line, but now it sounds wrong knowing Vince is sitting right there. Shawn gets a super kick out of nowhere for two as that wasn’t his finisher at this point. Bret back in and he sends Shawn flying with a sling shot into the corner. Side Russian Leg Sweep gets two. Back breaker, but Shawn takes the eyes. Owen tags himself in and gets a sweet overhead throw for two. Shawn reverses a whip and Owen crashes into a blinded Bret. That sends Bret into the railing and Owen into a roll-up to eliminate him at 27:15. Owen does not take that well.
-Team Hart up 3-1: The brothers and Stu check on Bret as Owen storms off pissed at Bret. Bruce with a clothesline to Shawn and he drops an elbow for two. Jaw breaker and a sleeper as Heenan does a pretty solid Stu impression. Heenan has been a positive on commentary for this match. Both men get knocked down and Bruce crawls to make a tag to Keith. I finally realized some in the crowd are chanting “Gomez” at Keith. Shawn continues to fight like a babyface against the odds but he’s the heel here. He starts bouncing all over the ropes and buckles for Bret. Sharpshooter, but he fights out and opts to leave for a weak finish at 30:54.
Survivors: Bret Hart, Keith Hart, and Bruce Hart at 30:54
-Not a fan of the ending but I assume they didn’t want Shawn taking a pin. The Knights were a disappointment to me as a kid as I was thinking they would be something new and not just older wrestlers under masks. The crowd was down for most because they only cared about Bret, Owen, and Shawn. It was technically fine, but long. It did lead to greatness down the road. **
-Owen is back and he is not here to celebrate as he yells and shoves Bret. The crowd boos Owen as they cut to Helen who looks like she wants to cry. Stu tries to talk sense to Owen, but he wants to know why he never gets recognition and why it’s always about Bret. The brothers actually leave without Owen which is kind of a dick move. Vince just hopes they all get together in the spirit of Thanksgiving. Heenan: “Then try to hit them right between the eyes with a drumstick.” Todd tries to interview Owen on the way out, but he doesn’t want to talk about it. Boos pour down.
-Vince tells Heenan they are going to switch spots with Gorilla and JR for the next match. Gorilla makes more threats towards Heenan. They obviously knew what was coming. Gorilla grabs Heenan by the jacket and Bobby puts his glasses on in a brilliant bit. He then fakes taking a swing at Gorilla when his back is turned and then cowers when Gorilla looks at him. We know these two had a blast doing this.
SMW Tag Titles: The Rock N Roll Express (c) vs. The Heavenly Bodies (w/ Jim Cornette)
-Cornette was getting SMW on WCW PPV earlier in the year and now has them on WWF PPV by the end of the year. This also explains why the switch to Ross and Gorilla. Calling this action is old hat for JR. Seeing the Rock N Roll Express in a WWF ring just looks weird. Even weirder that it’s in the 90s. The Bodies attack before the bell and then we don’t even hear a bell as it was muted by the over dubbed music for The RNR Express. Morton sling shots both Bodies to the floor and then hits a suicide dive. Ross notes the feud between these teams has been going on for 10 years. Gibson with a head scissors on Del Ray. Double elbows from The Express. Dr. Tom and Morton in as Ross name drops The Midnight Express. The Bodies run into each other as all four men are back in the ring. Monkey Flips out of the corner for both Bodies. Atomic Drop and then collide into each other. Row Boat spot as they are hitting the classics. Gibson slings shots in and drops a knee to the thigh of Dr. Tom. Morton back in and he goes back to the knee. We cut to Heenan and Vince as they tell the radio audience about the different rules in SMW. As I mentioned before I think the only time I got to hear radio WWE was when they did King of the Ring 93. Dr. Tom goes to the eyes and brings in Jimmy, but he walks into an arm-drag. Whip to the corner, but Gibson cushions the blow from the apron. The Bodies try to do the same and it backfires. They have been made to look like fools in this one. One fan in the building tries to start a boring chant. Morton and Dr. Tom go again and the Bodies finally get going as Tom hits a sit-out powerbomb. Jimmy back in after a slam and Tom dumps him onto Morton for a two count. Jimmy does a dance because he is a gigolo. Morton gets pitched to the floor and Cornette holds him up so Jimmy can hit an Asai Moonsault. For some reason JR calls it a reverse moonsault, but I mean, it was a standard moonsault. Back in the ring Dr Tom gets two with a powerslam and he mad sure to pull the tights as well. The crowd isn’t really into this but, Boston isn’t close to Tennessee. Double team sidewalk slam gets two! The boring chant is a few people now instead of just one guy. Vertical suplex from Dr. Tom. Jimmy gets the tag and heads up top. He drops a leg drop as Tom held Morton and that gets two. Sweet move and kind of got a reaction from the crowd. Morton counters a powerbomb with a Frankensteiner (as noted by JR) for two. These guys are working hard, but this crowd doesn’t care. Moonsault Press from Jimmy gets two as Gibson makes the save. Morton avoids a double backdrop and hits a double DDT. Lukewarm Tag to Gibson and he sends Jimmy flying with a backdrop. Jimmy breaks up a pin attempt and all four back in the ring. Gibson gets a roll-up, but Dr. Tom throws him to the floor. Gibson wants a DQ as that’s a DQ in SMW, but this is under WWF rules. Chaotic ending and RNR get a double dropkick for two. The crowd wakes up as Cornette gets nailed. The ref puts Morton out which lets Jimmy come off the top with a racket shot for the win and Titles at 13:38.
Winners and New SMW Tag Team Champions: The Heavenly Bodies via pin at 13:38
-I appreciate the work, but sadly, this was the wrong audience and town for something like this. They opening comedy/wacky spots didn’t do much for the crowd. Once the Bodies took it things picked up. The ending gave The RNR an out as they should have retained if that was in SMW. The Bodies then cheat to win and give us a rare non WWF title changing hands on a WWF PPV. ***
-Recap of Doink telling Bigelow there will be 4 Doinks tonight.
-We get the tremendous Heenan joke where he says, “Booger is my pick.” What makes it is Vince’s reaction though we know Vince is into things way weirder than booger picking.
Survivor Series Elimination Match: Bam Bam Bigelow (w/ Luna Vachon), Bastion Booger, and The Headshrinkers vs. The Doinkwhackers (Luke Doink, Butch Doink) and Doinks on a Mission (Mo Doink, Mabel Doink) (w/ Oscar)
-We also have a turkey carcass thanks to Booger and The Headshrinkers as they were eating one while on their way to the ring. Takes 90 seconds before Booger decks Luke Doink. Luke bites Booger on the ass and then steps on his bare foot. Samu in and he drops a head butt on Luke. Afa is apparently biting balloons on the floor. Doinks squirt water at Samu and he gets rolled up and eliminated at 3:00.
-Doinks up 4-3: Fatu and Butch have a go next. Not much happens, but Booger is in and drops a leg on Butch. Bigelow in as the crowd has been chanting for Doink the entire match. Bigelow chokes Butch on the top rope and then distracts the ref so Fatu can snap Butch’s neck off the top rope. Booger in and he does a groin drop, but gets off the cover so he can get a banana. He goes for it again, but Butch gets pulled out of the way. Battering Ram and Mabel drops a leg to send Booger packing at 6:09.
-Doinks up 4-2: The wild thing is this match is getting a better response than the SMW Tag Match. Fatu uses the remnants of the turkey to hit Luke in the head. Mo brings a scooter into the ring and goes for a ride. Heenan’s shock at all this is pretty funny. Bigelow dropkicks Mo and throws the scooter to the floor. Ugly sidewalk slam from Fatu. He heads up top and comes off with a splash, but again, no cover as he grabs a banana. This is just, I mean, yeah. Butch fakes throwing water on Fatu and he slips on a banana peel. That gets a pin at 8:40. Like Mario Kart, but not fun.
-Doinks up 4-1: We get a showdown between Bigelow and Mabel and the crowd wants to see this. Bigelow tries a running shoulder and not happening. Another try and again, nothing. Heenan: “go for the knees.” Instead he tries a third time and Mabel knocks him down. Mabel misses a splash in the corner and this time a leaping shoulder knocks him down. Butch throws a bucket of garbage on Luna and The Doinks pile up on Bigelow to get the win at 10:58.
Survivors: All of Team Doink at 10:58
-I mean, of all the things on this show this is a match I actually remember all these years later. Not good and I don’t think it was supposed to be. I like to think Vince saw how bad this was and decided to give Bigelow a Mania Main Event to make it up to him. Some will enjoy this, but not for me. DUD
-The real Doink (or whoever is playing him this time) pops up on the video board and makes jokes at Bigelow’s expense. This feud made it all the way to Mania X.
Survivor Series Elimination Match: The Foreign Fanatics: Yokozuna (captain) (w/ Mr. Fuji and Jim Cornette), Jacques (w/ Johnny Polo) and Ludvig Borga vs. The All-Americans: Lex Luger (captain), The Undertaker (w/ Paul Bearer), and The Steiner Brothers
-We had different line-ups announced and then people were pulled and we end up with Taker representing American and Crush being on the foreign team. Another slow start as they exchange words and figure out how is starting for each side. They finally settle on Scott and Jacques, who offers a handshake. Scott wants no parts of that and sends Jacques flying with an overhead release suplex. Rick in and Jacques bails as he brings in Yokozuna. Loud USA chant! Yoko clubs Rick to the mat, but misses a clothesline. Rick with a shoulder tackle and another one. A third one sends Yoko to the floor, but he is up to the apron rather quickly. Rick gets trapped in the wrong corner and Borga throws body punches before pitching Rick to the floor. Rick sneaks back in and comes off the top with a flying shoulder for two. Borga back with a slam, but misses an elbow. Rick off the top, but gets caught with something and Borga gets the pin at 5:02. That looked screwy.
-Foreign Fanatics up 4-3: Rick hobbles to the back as Jacques points him towards the exit. Funny! Scott with a Gorilla Press Slam and he tosses Jacques to Crush, who catches him with one hand and puts him back on his feet. Crush catches Scott with an uppercut and then a straight right hand. Clothesline is ducked and Rick gets a butterfly suplex. Nice! Vince tells us that Savage was tossed from the building, but reports are he is back. That kind of tips off what’s to come. Here comes Savage though officials and wrestlers are trying to hold him back. Crush with a Gorilla Press and he drops Scott to the floor in a crazy bump. Scott is selling a knee issue as he crawls back into the ring. Crush drops a leg and then delivers a head-butt. Heenan says his hats off to Fuji, if he had a hat, for what he has done with Crush. Like a WWF announcer wearing a hat would ever get over! Here’s Savage again as he is giving it another go. Scott hits Crush with a dropkick and he takes that as a chance to rush the aisle after Savage. The brawl is on as Crush gets counted out at 11:34.
-All tied at 3: Scott is being worked over by Borga and Yoko in the corner as Crush is told that he has been eliminated. Jacques with a Boston Crab while Borga crank on the beck from the apron. Leaping back elbow by Jaques and he hits a SWANK piledriver for two. Scott reverses a whip and buries a right hand to the gut. Gorilla Press Slam and Scott makes the tag to Luger. Slam to Jacques and Luger drops an elbow from the middle ropes for the pin at 14:06.
-All-Americans up 3-2: Borga in as we reset for a second. He wants Luger, but Steiner is in the ring instead. Steiner ducks one clothesline, but gets caught on the second time by. Whip to the corner and Borga hits a splash followed by another clothesline. Heenan: “This Borga is the wrestler of the 90s.” Props to Brain for trying to sell it, but geez. Borga up top, but Steiner meets him up there and throws him across the ring with a suplex. Yoko in for the save and he tries to drop an elbow, but Scott moves. Yoko grabs the ropes to counter a move and then drops a leg to get the pin and eliminate Scott at 16:58.
-All tied at 2: Luger in as this is apparently a working vacation for Taker. Yoko drops Luger with a chop and then hammers him with forearms to the back. He chokes on the middle rope. Slam but a splash misses. Luger starts firing away with right hands and charges at Yoko, but gets mowed down with a clothesline. Borga back in with body shots. He lands a running boot as Heenan thinks Taker may have died on the apron. “Well, he may be dead anyway. I don’t know.” Heenan kills me as he says Taker is getting a basketball team. “It’s for guys six feet and under.” I love it! Yoko runs Luger from corner to corner, but misses a splash in the corner. Take is finally in and all it took was nearly 21 minutes. He plants Yoko with a sweet DDT that gets the biggest reaction of the night. Clothesline staggers Yoko. Borga gets decked for trying to get involved, but it does let Yoko hit a belly-to-belly suplex. Taker sits up and Yoko kicks him down. Sits up again so Yoko drops a leg. Banzai Drop! Taker sits up to avoid a second one. Leaping clothesline from Taker sends Yoko the floor. Taker gives chase and no sells being sent into the steps. We get a double count-out at 23:24. Taker worked just under three minutes in this match.
-All tied at 1: Borga drops Luger and hits an elbow for a two count. Borga drives Lex into the mat and that also gets two. Delayed vertical suplex and again only a two count. Powerslam gets two! Clothesline and another gets two. Lex blocks a suplex and get his own. Double clothesline leaves both men down. Cornette and Polo distract the ref as Fuji slips Borga his salt bucket. He uses it to hit Luger, but that only gets two. Luger starts his comeback and lands a right hand to the ribs. DDT from Luger! Back elbow gets two. Powerslam gets two! Borga works in a body shot, but sets too early on a backdrop and Luger hits loaded forearm for the pin at 27:58.
Sole Survivor: Lex Luger via pin at 27:58
-They knew Taker/Yoko was the next Title program and thus neither has to do a job here. Luger is the sole survivor, but doesn’t make up for the fact he didn’t get the job done at SummerSlam. They were given time
-We get “snow” falling and Santa Claus rushes out to celebrate with Luger. Bret got that treatment the previous year. Three count-outs in one elimination match seems excessive. It sent the crowd home happy at least. **1/2
