POST Wrestling reports that AEW filed a lawsuit against the production company behind the wrestling-themed biopic, Queen of the Ring. The lawsuit alleges that Ring Productions LLC has failed to pay AEW more than $105,000 for promoting the movie.
Ring Productions LLC signed a sponsorship deal with AEW in January 2025, agreeing to pay AEW approximately $350,000. In exchange, the movie received sponsored matches on AEW programming, members of the cast shown during AEW TV broadcasts,\ in-arena plays of the movie’s trailer, and AEW stars hyping the movie on social media, along with other benefits.
Ring Productions is said to have paid a total of $250,000 as of May 23, 2025. However, it’s alleged that the production company failed to meet the February 28 deadline to make that payment. AEW is also seeking interest on late payments at a 1.5% monthly interest rate.
The lawsuit was filed on June 26 with the Fourth Judicial Circuit in Duval County. AEW’s main office is in Jacksonville, Florida, which is part of Duval County, Florida.
Ring Productions has not yet filed a legal response to AEW’s lawsuit. Additionally, the court docket indicates that the production company hasn’t been formally served with the lawsuit yet. Ring Productions will reportedly have 20 days to file a legal response.
