Loading...-Best of luck to my Uniontown Red Raiders who start High School Basketball Playoffs tomorrow. Let’s get to it!
-Announce Team: Blake Howard and Brian James
-Taped: Rupp Arena, Lexington, KY
Chelsea Green vs. Tegan Nox
-James notes that Chelsea isn’t his favorite wrestler, but she is his favorite sports entertainer. These two faced off in a tag match last week and now we get a singles match. Neither woman is accompanied by her tag partner. Lockup and they fight for an advantage. Nox back Chelsea into the corner and complains to the ref about a hair pull. They go again and Chelsea grabs the hair behind the ref’s back. Small touches like that are great. Chelsea climbs the ropes while in the lockup and then just falls on her face as she has no problem bringing the comedy. Running uppercut from Nox followed by a release suplex where she drops Chelsea on her face. Chelsea rolls to the floor as she needs a minute, but Nox comes off the apron with a flipping senton. Nox heads up top, but Chelsea lands a kick to the chest. She hangs Nox over the middle ropes and just stomps her face into the apron. Nice! Chelsea gets a two count and then another as she yells at the ref. Nox chews on the middle rope to show that she is fighting through the pain. Nox with a roll-up for two count. They start trading slaps and Chelsea wins that exchange. They go through a pin several sequence that gets another twelve two counts. I see what they are doing and I am enjoying it. Clothesline from Nox and them some hammer fists. Another running uppercut from Nox knocks Chelsea on her ass in the corner. Splash from Nox and she heads up top. She comes off with a cross-body, but Green rolls through and gets the pin with a handful of tights at 5:00.
Winner: Chelsea Green via pin at 5:00
-This was fun! I enjoyed the comedy and the small character touches from Green. Them trying to gas the ref with the constant pin reversals was fun as well. **1/2

-Video package recap of last week’s epic WrestleMania Kick-off Show in Las Vegas. Here is my recap and go watch it on YouTube if you haven’t seen it. Just amazing stuff and it really looks like Roman vs. Cody II is happening at Mania. For reals this time!
-Back to RAW as Cody holds court and thanks the fans for their support. Cody calls Rock a potential Presidential Nominee. We get video from McAfee’s show where Rock coined the term Cody Crybabies. Cole to McAfee: “It was all your fault.” Cody wants Pat to clarify what Rock wants the fans to do with the McNuggets. Speaking of McAfee we need him vs. Bill Simmons at Mania to settle their issues. Cody promises to hit Rock back and here comes Seth Rollins. He respects Cody’s decision and tells him he needs to finish his story for himself, his dad, and everyone else. If he doesn’t then the landscape after WrestleMania is dark. He needs to take Roman’s Title and give it back to the people. Seth brings up how The Bloodline was there to stop Cody, now this time he has The Rock which makes it that much more difficult. Seth tells Cody he is uniquely qualified to be his Shield. I see what he did there! Cody assembling The Avengers to finally finish this story is going to be great.

-Back to RAW as Becky Lynch cuts a promo and gets in a good line about explaining to her daughter why “daddy wants to fight Maui.” The crowd didn’t appreciate it, but I popped for it. Becky is obsessed with getting back the Title she has not held in almost two years. Technically though she has never held this version of the Title as it is the WWE Woman’s World Championship and not the RAW or SmackDown Championship anymore. I hope they aren’t teasing Becky/Rhea at Mania this hard just to swerve us. It has to be Rhea/Becky as that is the big time match they have left that doesn’t involve Jade. Nia Jax interrupts and she knows Becky is going to win at Elimination Chamber (as she fake cries), but she will be seeing her at WrestleMania and not Rhea. Here’s Rhea to start a fight and all three women get into it. Nia gets sent packing by Becky and we get a brief stare down between Rhea and Becky. Rhea then catches Nia with a boot to the face.

-SmackDown tomorrow: Shotzi vs. Stratton (not now as Shotzi is injured sadly) and Naomi vs. Zelina Vega. Also, The Rock and Roman Reigns return!
Dante Chen vs. Akira Tozawa (Maxxine Dupri)
-I need a Chase U vs. Alpha Academy rivalry at some point in my life. Chen casually tosses Chen across the ring as James notes you can see who has the power advantage. Chen being the heavy in the match will be interesting. He grabs a waist-lock and throws Tozawa around a bit. Tozawa hooks a side headlock and lands on his feet as Chen tries to dump him. POUNCE from Chen sends Tozawa flying. Tozawa gets his feet up to block a charge. He snaps off a head scissors followed by a dropkick. He looks to fly, but Chen rushes back in and gets a backbreaker to send us to a break at 1:48.
-WrestleMania XL commercial that debuted during The Super Bowl. Yes, I am still bitter. Always next year for my Niners!
-1:28 of Hulu commercials!
-Back at 3:58 with Chen in control. Tozawa takes a hard whip into the corner and then another to the opposite corner. That gets a two count. Chen hooks a reverse chinlock as the crowd gets behind Tozawa. Another whip to the corner and another backbreaker for another two count. Another reverse chinlock! Chen tries for a third backbreaker, but Tozawa is ready this time. Thank goodness! Shining Wizard from Tozawa followed by a suicide dive to the floor. Missile dropkick from the top rope gets a two count. Chen fights off Tozawa’s back with some elbows and hits a Brogue Kick for two. That looked great as Tozawa sold it like death. Roll-up for Tozawa gets two. Head kick from Tozawa and he rips his shirt like Hulk Hogan. TOZAWA-MANIA RUNNING WILD! He heads up top and hits the Senton Back Splash for the pin at 9:00.
Winner: Akira Tozawa via pin at 9:00
-Once Tozawa started his comeback this got good. The crowd loves Tozawa and doesn’t really know Chen, so it made for a weird dynamic. This ended up being good enough and the crowd was happy to see Tozawa get the win. Probably went a little too long, but I can see why they want some of these NXT kids to get time with people like Crews and Tozawa. **1/4
-Elimination Chamber! 5 AM Saturday!
-Hulu commercials!
-Back to RAW for our party match as Jey Uso and New Day get a win over Imperium.
-This Monday on RAW: Jey is the next challenger for GUNTHER!
-Also on RAW: DIY and Awesome Truth vs. Judgment Day! That will be this week’s party match!
-Also on RAW: Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre and more Elimination Chamber qualifying matches,
-Back to RAW as Sami Zayn did battle with Nakamura to close the show. I forgot these two faced off in Nakamura’s WWE debut in NXT. That seems like a lifetime ago. Drew distracts Zayn and Nakamura uses that distraction to get the win. The seem to be rolling with Sami on a losing streak deal and I hope they pay it off with the way we all hope it will end. Nakamura and Drew attack after the match, but Cody makes the save.
-Thanks for reading!
