In an interview with Busted Open Radio (via Fightful), Lexis King spoke about his time in WWE NXT so far and how he feels about being a part of that roster. He briefly compared his time in NXT to his time in AEW.

He said: “It’s night and day, you know what I mean? I’m not gonna talk too much about Brian Pillman Jr. and the trials and tribulations that he dealt with at AEW, but here at NXT, I mean, shoot, the King’s got it all. I got the respect of the locker room, I got a spot on the show, I’m valued for what I bring to the table, my ability inside the ring, outside the ring. It’s day and night here. There’s a direction for me. I got my eye on the prize, you know what I mean? That’s not anybody’s fault but my own. We saw what happened in Jacksonville, when Pillman Jr.’s eye wasn’t on the ball. I was a shadow of who I am now. I was a nobody because I wasn’t focused on the prize, but here at NXT, we’ve got the Performance Center. I’ve got a place to train. I got young guys and girls looking up to me, who depend on me to go out there and perform and be The King and set an example. So I don’t have time for all this going out and this partying and this DJing bullshit. I come into this gym and I work out in front of these professional coaches, and we get the ball rolling to become the best version of ourselves.
