Veteran WWE ring announcer Lilian Garcia has hinted that she may be the one to introduce John Cena for his final in-ring appearance, “barring any surprises,” she doesn’t know.

The event, part of WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, 2025, in Washington, D.C., will officially mark Cena’s retirement from in-ring competition. WWE is expected to pull out all the stops for the 17-time World Champion’s farewell, with fans around the world anticipating an emotional send-off. Cena has already announced a 16-man “The Last Time Is Now Tournament” that would see superstars from RAW, SmackDown, and NXT fight to become his last opponent at the event.

In a recent Instagram Live, Garcia revealed that, unless there’s a last-minute change, she would likely be announcing Cena one last time (via Fightful). She also recalled introducing Cena at a live event as “The Prototype” during his initial days in WWE.

“I will be there. Barring any surprises that I don’t know, I will be announcing it. Hopefully. Fingers crossed. It would be such an honor. An absolute honor.”

Garcia’s presence has been a constant in WWE as her voice has become synonymous with countless legendary moments. Having her introduce John Cena during his farewell match feels like the perfect tribute to both their journeys.
