Max Caster has heat over the freestyle from his TNA debut at Bound For Glory, with reports saying there’s a chance he may already be done there. As noted, the former AEW star made his debut against Moose at Sunday’s PPV. On his way down to the ring, he did a rap in which he delivered the line “And this the firing squad/I drop bombs, you don’t even have to fly to Riyadh.” Moose ultimately won the match.
The Saudi Arabia line has received plenty of pushback online, and according to Fightful Select it did not go over well inside the company either. Sources in the company told Sean Ross Sapp that Caster got heat from a lot of people over the line and that some executives were unhappy with it. TNA sources say that the line was neither scripted nor approved by the company, and TNA deleted every mention of the line in social media videos of the rap.
The situation is not new for Caster, who got heat for a number of the raps he did while in AEW. That said, False Finish reports that according to sources, the line “raised eyebrows” not only among executives in the company but with TNA’s global partners as well. False Finish cites sources as saying that TNA will no longer be working with Caster.
Fightful Select said they have not definitively learned whether the door is closed for Caster there, but said that TNA hoped to have Caster work the upcoming tapings in Dothan, Alabama. It’s not yet definitively confirmed whether he has been removed from those plans, and TNA sources didn’t specify whether he was on a contract or simply had a verbal agreement. The company is said to have looked at other free agent options before deciding on Caster.
The report from Fightful adds that according to sources in AEW, there is no working plan for Caster to return there.
