Reigning WWE NXT Champion Oba Femi is reportedly on his way to the main roster soon, based new report by BodySlam+. The news comes after his recent singles bout against reigning WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event earlier this month.
The match ended in a no-contest due to interference by Drew McIntyre. However, BodySlam+ reports that WWE officials were “unbelievably impressed” by Femi’s performance in the matchup and his appearance the night before in a promo segment with Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown. As a result, vignettes were made for Femi that later aired on both SmackDown and Monday Night Raw.
Additionally, BodySlam+ reports that WWE officials view Femi on par with surging Raw Superstar Bron Breakker, who is competing for the World Heavyweight Title against CM Punk next week on the first WWE Raw of 2026. Femi is said to be expected to get called up to the main WWE roster very soon.
This lines up with an earlier report by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio regarding Oba Femi’s performance at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, with WWE officials seeing the current NXT Champion as a top Superstar.
With the way Breakker has been recently featured on WWE programming, it suggests that Oba Femi is on his way to becoming a main event-level talent for years to come in WWE.
