AEW wrestler Queen Aminata released a new YouTube vlog today, sharing an update on her health and neck injury recovery. She spoke about getting her neck checked with an MRI, and she said she hopes to be back on TV “pretty soon.” Below are some highlights of her comments from her vlog:

Queem Aminata on Her Return

“So, I was supposed to fly on Tuesday to go to TV in LA to get my neck checked and all that stuff cuz I did my MRI and everything is looking good. Not great. Good. So, I hope to be back pretty soon. So, doc changed my schedule, and I won’t be back at TV until the 25th in Denver. Hopefully everything looks good so I can get back in the ring and start rolling around picking that first bump, which is very very scary. Like I don’t know why I’m freaking out about it. Like I’ve been doing this for almost 10 years, and bro, taking a bump is scary. Especially when you get hurt, and you come back, they’re like, ‘Oh yeah, take your first bump.’ I don’t care what anybody says. To me, it is freaking nerve-wracking.”

On Wanting To Wrestle in Japan Again

“But anyways, I’ve been watching a lot of Japanese wrestling and [snorts] I would love to go back to Japan again. This is good and bad. Like, I just want to be comfortable and just which is not me. Like I’m never ****ing comfortable, but I’m just speaking in general. Like all these things going through my mind, and I’m like, bro, every single time these questions pop in my head, [snorts] always one answer. There’s always one answer that always comes back again and again and again. I just want to go in that ring, go hard or go home. Like that’s just what I [want to do].”

On the Version of Herself She Puts on Social Media

“So, after the women’s title change last night, I woke up this morning with so many people tagging me, “Oh my god, Queen of this, Queen of that, Queen should come back, Queen. Are you coming back? Tell me that you’re coming back soon and that and that. Guys? I wish you guys knew sometimes whatever I post on social media is not even 10% of me. That’s just not me. You know, if I decide to be 100% me on social media, that’s bad. Like really bad. I might get deported. I might go to jail. Am I, like, I might be in trouble? Like, no, don’t make me do that. And yes, sometimes a cultural shock like [laughter] sometimes I say some stuff, and it comes out very bad, very rude, but it’s just a translation in my head. Like, it’s just it’s not what I like, it’s not badly intended. But I just feel like these days, you know, when I wake up in the morning be like, ‘Good morning everybody.’

“Some of y’all, well, not some of y’all, a lot of y’all be like, ‘Oh my god, she said good morning, but her face didn’t say good morning. her face said, ‘Go freak yourself.’ Like, ‘Give me a break.’ Huh? And everybody’s so tight these days. Everybody’s in their feelings. Everybody’s taking every single thing serious. Like, I started wrestling because I wanted to have fun. I started this whole training stuff because I just wanted to get ****ed up in the ring and still have fun and laugh about it. As I’m growing into wrestling and being this signed talent, I’ve realized you have so many pressure out there. Like so many pressure.”

As previously reported, Queen Aminata also recently announced that AEW renewed her contract through February 2027. She was recently sidelined with a neck injury last year that forced her to withdraw from the first-ever women’s Blood & Guts Match. You can check out Aminata’s latest vlog below.
