Richard Holliday Leaves Boots In the Ring at GCW Show Amid WWE Interest Reports

Richard Holliday appeared to give a farewell after his match at GCW Melee in Manchester, leaving his boots in the ring as reports say he may be WWE-bound. Sunday’s show in Manchester, New Hampshire featured Holliday battling TNA star Bear Bronson. Bronson picked up the win over Holliday and after the match, Holliday sat in the ring for a moment before giving Bronson a show of respect. He then stood and absorbed a “Thank You” chant from the crowd before he sat back down, untied his boots and left them in the ring.
You can see the post-match segment below. The announcers obliquely referenced rumors of his WWE interest but seemed surprised at the boot removal, saying “This is not the rumor.” Holliday bowed to the crowd before leaving to the back.
It was reported last week that WWE was interested in Holiday and there was an expectation that “he could be signed very soon if he hasn’t already done so.” There is no confirmation that Holiday has signed on with the company at this time.
Holliday is best known for his run in MLW, where he was part of Dynasty with MJF and Alex Hammerstone. He is a former MLW World Tag Team Champion, as well as a former MLW Caribbean Heavyweight Champion.
