SmackDown creative head Road Dogg revealed his reaction to R-Truth’s blockbuster return at last year’s Money in the Bank Premium Live Event on WWE: Unreal Season Two.
The second season of the behind-the-scenes docuseries was released on Netflix earlier today, with the second episode focusing on R-Truth’s contract drama that unfolded during the summer last year.
A week before WWE MITB 2025, R-Truth shocked the world when he revealed on social media that he was being let go by the promotion after the expiration of his deal. This led to immense backlash from fans on social media, and Truth eventually returned at the following weekend’s MITB PLE. He appeared as a masked, hooded figure and attacked John Cena in the closing stages of the show before revealing himself to be R-Truth.
On WWE: Unreal Season Two, Road Dogg revealed that he started crying after realizing that the masked man was indeed Truth.
” I knew it was Ron Killings [R-Truth] immediately because of his ankles. I know that sounds funny, but, like, I knew his ankles. I started crying right then,” he said.
Elsewhere, Road Dogg also commented on Truth’s short-lived departure from the company, stating that the decision to not renew his contract made “perfect business sense.”
“While it broke my heart, it made perfect business sense to not renew his contract. At his age, you might not get that reward back.”
