Details on Backstage Reaction to Roman Reigns & LA Knight’s WWE Raw Promo

The promo back and forth between Roman Reigns and LA Knight reportedly earned high marks from people within WWE. Monday night’s show opened with a back and forth between Reigns and Knight, in which Knight declared Reigns part of the establishment he plans to tear down as well as a a manufactured corporate puppet and an industry plant. Reigns countered that Knight was supposed to just be “another egg in the omelette” and that he would be broken at Money in the Bank.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, sources relayed that a number of officials backstage and within production were very impressed with the promo exchange. They particularly pointed out the level of emotion that Reigns showed, something the OTC tends to be more reserved about normally.

The internal reaction was said to be strong enough that is sparked legitimate discussions about how effective that particular approach to Reigns’ character would be going forward in the right situation.

Reigns will defend his World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight at WWE Money in the Bank, which takes place Saturday from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana and airs live on ESPN Unlimited in the US and Netflix internationally.
