Ted DiBiase says that he’s a big fan of Mick Foley, looking at him as a peer who understands the psychology of the business. Foley’s in-ring style has always been controversial among some wrestlers, and despite his reputation among in and out of wrestling he was called a “glorified stuntman” by the likes of Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair.
DiBiase recently spoke with Wrestleholics for a quick interview and expressed his admiration for Foley. DiBiase noted that Foley understands wrestling psychology in a way that not all of the younger talent who emulates his style do.
“I love Mick,” DiBiase said. “Mick was one of a kind. And here’s a guy who I really admire, because he’s one of those guys. There’s a lot of guys — and don’t get me wrong, I’m not knocking any of the new guys that are up in there.”
He continued, “But Mick I look at, and I look at him like a peer of mine because he has the same understanding of the psychology of pro wrestling that I do. And a lot of that he got because he was a big fan of a guy who was- not only a fan, but like a big brother to me. And that was Terry Funk. Well, both the Funks.”
Foley is now with AEW, having signed with the company late last month.
