Tommy Dreamer Says Blake Monroe WWE NXT Segment Could Lead To Babyface Run

Tommy Dreamer was a fan of Blake Monroe’s “interview” segment on this week’s NXT, noting that it could set the stage for a possible babyface turn. The segment aired on last night’s episode, with Monroe being “interviewed” by a darker version of herself. The darker version prodded Monroe to defeat Sol Ruca once and for all and move on.

Dreamer spoke about the segment on Busted Open Radio in glowing terms. He compared it to both Monroe’s feud with Toni Storm in AEW and Bayley’s current storyline. You can see highlights below:

On the Segment Itself:

“Tonight’s NXT, I thought, did a wonderful job. Here’s another thing that I really truly — I like two things, but one I’ll get into it. We had a caller, Blake Monroe showing a different side of her, A conflicted character. [It] takes her a different way. Kind of reminded me a little bit of Toni Storm. And if you remember that whole angle she did with Toni Storm where she kind of like was her stunt double. I liked this version of it. I liked the fact that they used a black outfit, and like her hair [was] different and how she was interviewing herself.”

On a Potential Babyface Run:

“This will make her perhaps a massive babyface. We’ve seen it with Bailey where Bailey is hearing all these voices. But if Blake Monroe is the only person seeing this character, talking to this character? Very interesting to see where if we could get a dual personality and it’s hard to pull off. The greatest person to pull it off? Ladies and gentlemen, we all know Mick Foley or the Three Faces of Foley. So far we have two with Blake Monroe and I really liked that sitdown [segment]. I thought it was shot cool, I thought there’s way more length to this, and it shows their character and their why and their origin story.”
