Triple H Congratulates The Rock for His Golden Globe Award Nomination

As previously reported, former WWE Champion Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson received a Golden Globe nomination for his performance as Mark Kerr in The Smashing Machine this week. WWE Chief Creative Officer Triple H later congratulated The Rock for his nomination via social media.

Triple H wrote to The Rock on his X account, “Want to extend my congratulations on behalf of the entire @WWE family to @TheRock on his @goldenglobes nomination for The Smashing Machine. I know that he gave his all to this role, and the performance on screen showed it.” He continued, “Today’s announcement is a recognition of that hard work.”

This marks the first Golden Globe nomination of The Rock’s career. He was nominated for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for the eighty-third edition of the awards ceremony.

The Rock is currently filming the untitled next installment of the Jumanji film franchise. He reprises his role from the last two films, alongside Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan. It’s due out in theaters on December 11, 2026.

The 83rd Annual Golden Globes will air live on Sunday, January 11, 2026 at 5:00 pm PT/8:00 pm ET. The award ceremony will air live on CBS and will be simulcast on Paramount+.
