World Wrestling Council’s Honor vs Traicion Results for 05.31.08

World Wrestling Council’s “Honor vs Traicion” (Honor vs Betrayal) results on May 31st 2008 from Bayamon, PR

– The show opens with announcers Willie Urbina & El Wizard coming to the ring and welcoming the fans to Honor vs Traicion. They run down the card and then Wizard calls out El Paparazzi as his special guest on The Wizard Analisis Live. Paparazzi gets cheered by the pro-heel crowd. Wizard tells Paparazzi that he is aware of Paparazzi’s intentions of stealing his Sunday TV segment and that he will not allow that. Paparazzi basically responds with a plethora of insults and leaves the ring area. Wizard tells Paparazzi that even when he knows Paparazzi is not a man (in obvious reference to Paparazzi’s gay-ish character) he expects him to defend like one, which sounds like a challenge and builds up to the rumored Anniversary Match between this two.

– Bryan, Noriega, Abriela and the returning Chris Joel come to the ring as the real guests for The Wizard Analysis. Basically Bryan renames the stable, he says that the whole “Elite Club” thing was an invention of Joe Bravo and that from now on the stable, all of them, are called Juventud Rebelde (which was Joel & Noriega’s tag team name, which translates roughly to Rebellious Youth). Bryan reminds the fans that they will reveal a new member later on tonight. Jose Chaparro comes out on behalf of Condor and asks Bryan about something they had talked about, some sort of business preposition that was not revealed to the fans. Bryan says that they all agreed and Chaparro tells them that they wont regret it. What kind of business preposition is that? TUNE IN TO FIND OUT!

– “The Phenomenal” BJ defeats El Profe by pinfall. This match came to be because of Profe’s constant interfering on BJ’s matches with the Legion of Armaggedon. After BJ’s win, the entire Juventud Rebelde stable hit the ring with their new member, former WWC & IWA Junior Heavyweight Champion Tommy D (now calling himself Tommy Diablo once again) and beat BJ down. Several faces come out for the save while Bryan formally introduces Tommy Diablo as the new member of Juventud Rebelde.

– Crazy Rudy defeats Voodoo Man by DQ. This is Voodoo’s official return to WWC. I think he was injured. Rudy took Voodoo’s witch staff and when the ref turned around, Rudy tossed it to Voodoo and laid down pretending that Voodoo had used the staff to hit him. The ref called for the DQ and awared the match to Rudy.

Universal Title League:
Huracan Castillo defeats “Mr. Hardcore” Rico Suave by pinfall to earn two points. Castillo used the ringbell to knock out Suave. The match was basically a hardcore brawl even when it was not advertised as a hardcore match.

WWC Tag Team Titles:
The Texas Outlaws defeat The D’Jour Twins by pinfall to retain the titles. El Profe pulled one of the twins outside while one of the Outlaws covered the other twin. The other outlaw held the twin’s feet down as the count was made and the champions retain. The feud continues!

Universal Title League Points vs Mask:
El Condor defeats Orlando Colon by pinfall to earn all of Colon’s Universal Title League points. Very John Cena-esque moment as the fans cheered the heel Condor and booed Colon. 75% of the fans treated Condor as the face and mostly kids and marks where the only ones cheering Colon. In a surprise move, Noriega, who was second in points to Colon interfered and helped Condor win. With the win Condor has almost double the amount of points as everyone else in the League.

– The Puerto Rican Wrestling Comission come out to hold a small ceremony to honor Barrabas Sr. This is the culmination of the heart attack angle. To summarize, Barrabas was the victim of a 3-D from Thunder & Lightning and suffered a “heart attack”, which basically pussyfied Thunder & Lightning and they spent the last ten weeks or so apologizing for what they did and so on. Barrabas is handed a plaque and Thunder & Lightning come out to apologize once more and talk about all the history they had together (Barrabas once managed them). After the tribute is over, Thunder & Lightning escort Barrabas to the locker room. The camera follows them and the fans can see in the big screen as two huge men (The Shane Twins/Gemini) attack Thunder & Lightning brutally and lay them out. Barrabas laughs maniacally in the background! IT WAS ALL A SET-UP!

– The Shane Twins/with Barrabas Sr defeat El Comandante & “Mr. 450” Hammet by pinfall.. This was basically an extended squash where The Shane Twins got to dismantle the jobber/semi-jobber team. Barrabas basically calls them his new machines.

– El Condor and his group (Paparazzi, Chaparro and it seems that Juventud Rebelde as well) come out with Dutch Mantell. They call out Jovica to finalize the sale of WWC to Condor. Yes, this angle is about two years old, with Mantell mentioning that he had some mysterious investors ready to buy WWC. Of course, back then they had Jovica turn heel on Carlos Colon because he wanted the money and wanted to sell, while Colon did not. The investors where never revealed. Well, the angle ends here as Condor, or Rey Gonzales, is revealed as the mysterious investor. If you want to go even further, this could be tied with the year 2001, when Rey Gonzales bought 16% of WWC’s shares (in an angle) and with those shares he was scheming to take over. It’s amazing that WWC managed to tie all this stuff, bits and angles that where dropped or forgotten, into one cohesive storyline that makes perfect sense. Brilliant? I would call lucky, because back then they didnt know who the investors would be. Victor Jovica comes out looking like a fool when he realized that he was being used. Gonzales still has the mask and calls himself Condor, but Jovica refers to him as Rey, so they continue the not so subtle hints at who is under the mask. Condor even promises that when Jovica signs and he becomes the new majority shareholder and president of WWC, he will remove the mask and begin his reign. Jovica makes up excuses, obviously in an attempt to back out. He says that he will not sign because his lawyer is the same lawyer of Hillary Clinton (the presidencial primaries where in PR the very next day, so there was a political frenzy in the island) and that because of the primaries, his lawyer is not here. Mantell gets angry because they made him travel from Florida for nothing. Condor is also loudly yelling on the microphone enraged. Mantell and Jovica argue and eventually come to blows, Jovica gets the upper hand but Condor smacks him down and they beat him down. Carlos Colon eventually comes out microphone in hand and yelling a ton of insults and bad words directed at Mantell and Condor. Very surreal moment for some (like me) because they get to see the clean cut babyface Carlos Colon acting like a normal man and talking with bad words. Condor then asks Colon why he came out to save Jovica after all the things Jovica did to him. Colon says that he is not saving Jovica, he is saving WWC. He starts to run down every member of Condor’s group one by one. He says that if he where 6 or 7 years younger, he would beat Condor, but since he is on the old side, he can bring in Eddie or Carlito to do it for him. Condor mans up and tells Carlos to bring them both and Carlos says that he can have Eddie here tomorrow if need be. EXCELLENT! This is the angle of the year right here. Stay tuned for a full rundown in the Puerto Rico Report later on this week.

– The Shane Twins/with Barrabas Sr defeat The SWAT Team by pinfall. Dont ask me why they wrestled twice, but I guess the Twins wont be here every week and WWC wanted to have more taped footage to air on TV. Another extended squash.

– “The Golden Latino” Joe Bravo vs “The Loose Cannon” Bryan went to no contest. Brutal match, like every grudge match should be, this was a stiff and heated brawl, match of the night by far. The crowd was red hot already after the Condor angle and they embraced the hatred fully. When Bravo was in firm control, the rest of Bryan’s group ran out and attacked Bravo. Rico Suave, The D’Jours & Hammet made the save. Both sides trade insults and Bravo issues a challenge to Bryan for the Anniversary Show. Put a clean finish to this match and I would have called it an early MOTYC for Puerto Rican Wrestling.
