WrestleCon Promoter Says Carlos Silva Reimbursed For Leon Slater’s Accommodations, Flight

Carlos Silva got a lot of flack after TNA pulled Leon Slater from WrestleCon, but the convention’s promoter gave him credit for how he handled it after. As noted, Slater was one of the talents pulled by TNA from independent shows where they were set to face AEW talent. Slater was pulled from his bout with Ricochet at the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow.
WrestleCon promoter Michael Bochicchio took to Twitter on Thursday to reveal that Silva called him persoinally to explain the reson for pulling the match and asked how to make it right. He said Silva reimbursed WrestleCon for Slater’s flight and hotel costs upon request.
Bochicchio wrote:
“He took a beating the last few weeks, so I want to give @carlossilva his props today. A week ago, he called me personally to explain his reasoning for pulling the match. He then asked if there was anything he could do to make up for it. I simply asked that he reimburse me for Leon’s flights/hotel since he was no longer wrestling for us. Today, I was reimbursed for the flight/hotel as promised. Thank you Carlos.”
Instead of the Ricochet vs. Leon slater match, the main event of the show saw The Demand take on Mike Bailey, Kevin Knight, & Michael Oku.
