WWE’s Head of Digital says that he is shocked with how well the WWE Vault channels do on YouTube week in and week out. The YouTube channel, which launched in 2024, has become heavily-viewed channel in the past two years, along with the WCW Vault spinoff channel. The channels feature full events as well as rare footage from WWE’s extensive video library. The channel currently has nearly four million subscribers, doubling where it was at in late June of last year.

WWE Head of Digital Steve Braband spoke with Front Office Sports for a feature article that looked at the company’s use of YouTube to air content like AAA. Braband noted in the interview that the success of the channel has been one that surpassed his expectations. You can see the highlights below from Braband’s comments:

On the WWE Vault’s Success:

“The success of that came with no new resources [needed]. We tapped into a few people that were passionate about our archive, saw the engagement on our main channel, and just moved our whole vault to this page. We’re about to hit the four-million sub mark—and it shocks me every week how some content does.”

On How WWE Views Their YouTube Channels:

“We’re looking at it as a way to share content, create good content, drive business goals, but also remember how YouTube is connected to the whole Google sphere of it all. It’s a marketing tool. You’re able to show off this brand and grow it and grow new superstars.”
