WWE Releases CM Punk Elimination Chamber Cold Open Early
WWE Premium Live Events often open with some sort of video montage, and Elimination Chamber will be no different. If you want to see this one early, however, WWE has put it online already.
As the show takes place from Chicago, it’s no surprise that the opening features local hero and World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk. It’s framed by him walking the streets of present-day Chicago, along with flashbacks to his younger days. He puts over Chicago as a town so tough that the Elimination Chamber, by comparison, doesn’t scare him. (Not that he’ll be in the actual chamber match this year, of course — as champion, he’ll be defending in a one-on-one title match against Finn Balor.)
This segues into a series of clips from past Chamber matches, male and female. If that gets you hyped — and why wouldn’t it? — the cold open is followed by Punk himself giving you instructions on how to activate the ESPN app, if you have a cable provider that includes it. if not, well, you can pay for the app separately, and it’ll feel like the old days of pay-per-view.
Check out the video below:
Here’s the full WWE Elimination Chamber card:
* Men’s Elimination Chamber Match: Randy Orton vs. LA Knight vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Trick Williams vs. Je’Von Evans vs Jey Uso.
* Women’s Elimination Chamber Match: Tiffany Stratton vs. Rhea Ripley vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Asuka vs. Kiana James vs. Raquel Rodriguez.
* World Heavyweight Championship Match: CM Punk vs. Finn Balor.
* WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match: Becky Lynch vs. AJ Lee.
It’s always possible tonight’s Smackdown could add something more. 411 will have live coverage of Elimination Chamber on Saturday as usual.
